Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

No way!! Wow, that is freaking picky!! I didn't think they ever paid attention to that thing

I didn't think so either. I asked her for clarification as to what she wants and I haven't gotten a response from her. If she is this picky on the CLC agreement what is she gonna be like for the papers?

turnitin is not my friend tonight  anyone know how the tech ticket numbers work? apparently it's slow for everyone

Yeah, me too. First late assignment ever. I submitted to TII at 11:20p and started to freak around 11:45p. I logged onto the portal, under Quick Links on the left is the link for Technical Support. Click the new Technical Support link that comes up & it should get you to the page where you can chat with an IT person. I asked for a ticket # and sent that to my instructor. I ended up getting my TII report back at 1205, got 7% so clicked that dang thing over into the dropbox. Don't know if I'll get the mandatory 10% off she warned about, we'll see. I'm so fried I'm not sure I care! Note to Self: Don't TII at 11:20pm

People in my class have called tech support and they said they cannot do anything about it since it is a 3rd party website. I hope you get it figured out soon.

You should be fine with the ticket #

Yep, have a ticket number handy. If you didn't get one RN0511, then tell your instructor. They usually do know because everyone complains. In fact our Cap Prof is funny. On her pledge of things to do or not do, one of them is NOT panic and NOT get a ticket number. I'm sure she has been deluged with them in the past!

There is also a GCU FB that you can turn too that usually has updates, etc..

I just submitted it anyway! I waited an hour and still nothing so I finally went to bed. I saw the GCU tech FB page had a global ticket number so I gave that to my instructor..still waiting on their response. I told myself last weekend I wouldn't submit to TII so late and I obviously didn't learn my lesson. I think I have now lol  Ask me next weekend ha, ha

Thanks RN0511 for the GCU Tech FB idea (class 6 and I had no idea this existed?!), I'm all over that thing and reading anything I can find so my issues last night don't happen again. I found this on the TII FAQ area and will share for newbies. Tip for the Wise (which I was not).

"The initial assignment submission to Turnitin typically returns a report within 15 minutes but can take up to an hour. Additional submissions after this point may not return results for a full 24 hours so as not to pull information from a previous draft. It is always best to create and submit your work to Turnitin a day or two in advance to give the system time to generate a report fully."

This is news to me, about the 24h thing if you are resubmitting several times in a row to get a lower score. I'm not a plagiarizer but some assignments have unavoidable high scores. I had an assgn a couple wks ago that I had an article title that was like 20 words long that I had to have documented in there twice, plus the list of authors - of which there were 26 total - so naturally all that came back as high (31%) since my paper in general was kinda short. I had to tweak that paper 3x to get that score to 19%, and all this was around 11pm. Just passing this TII tidbit above on to those of us that tend to do this on Sunday evenings... :nailbiting:

I can't take credit for the GCU Tech FB page, I owe Tokmom for that one! Thanks for the info, looks like I have to stop procrastinating!

I never submit on Sunday because of the slowness of tii.. I have DSL anyway, which is slow enough but the only option in the sticks. I would be shoveling Tums if I had those issues!!

My fear is turning in the capstone through tii. How long is that going to take??:nailbiting:

Never had an issue turning them in on Sundays.....I contemplate a big time...so usually end up finishing sometime Sunday
