CPNE this weekend in UTICA

Well if you don't know by now, I am leaving Thursday for the CPNE in Utica. I am nervous as heck but I feel pretty good about my studies. Suequatch I would like for you to PM me your telephone number because for some reason I cannot PM you. I have designated you as my call person because you live not to far away. I will not be by a computer so I will call you so you can post if I passed.

I saw on the weather report that Utica will be having snow showers most of the weekend. What is a snow shower? Is it all snow or is is rain and snow?

I am going to run out and buy some real gloves and a scarf and a hat. The gloves I have are made out of a crochet material. My husband said I will not survive in Utica without them.Temp is going to br in mid 20's-30's.

Anyways, Thank you all for being so supportive. It really means alot. I pray that I pass this weekend and can finally get back to a regular routine.But even if I am unsuccessful, I know that I will get there.

Can anyone from the CPNE tell me the kinds of things you packed CPNE related to take with you. I don't want to forget a thing. Thanks a bunch and God Bless!

Here's the main ingredients to what I brought when I had mine 2 weeks ago:

-calculator

-4 pens

-4 mechanical pencils

-2 highlighters

-Watch with seconds hand

-Mosby's

-Med Book

-White scrubs and jacket

-White shoes and socks and underwear!

-One casual dressy outfit and shoes

-Nsg fundamentals book (kept in hotel, just for review)

-Drivers license (photo ID for EC)

-The appendix (checklist for AOC's) from the studyguide for last minute reading.

-My correspondance with Dr. A and the reviews of NCP's and mock PCS's I sent in.

-Posters of my mnemonics which I taped up on hotel room wall to loom above me while I slept.

-I also sent a mass email to all my friends and family and to allnurses and on the EPN to pray and send good thoughts to me. I printed out the responses and hung them up on my hotel room wall. It was nice to read in the morning and in the evening to remind me that I can do it! I must do it! My kids made drawings for me to hang up as well wishing me luck. My 11 y/o son wrote "We'll still love you even if you flunk. (Which you won't)". LOL.

-The only thing I brought to practice the labs with was a needless syringe so I could practice timing those IVP flushes.

And I fit it all into a carry on!

I'm going to try and post a pic of my posters (say that 10x fast) I got that idea from someone off the EPN. My kids helped decorate them :-) And a pic of my support emails I taped up too.

I knew there was more I was forgetting! Yes I mapquested all my locations from the aiport and hotel as well, printed it out and brought with me :-)

ALSO we get "snow showers" in the upper midwest where I'm at. They are just a short period of snow fall. Doesn't last all day.
