Anyone here worked at PGH before? Looks like they're hiring. While waiting out the retrogression, might as well, right?

Thank you for the reminder sir silverdragon.

Ma'am joy_smile22, I don't know that they are not currently entertaining nursing applicants. I will check on this tomorrow since I am on duty. But what I am sure of is the thousand of applicants who are currently on hold to accommodate previous applications.

I hope all of you still consider PGH and to not be discouraged.

I don't know if this will help, let me share to you what happened to me. I was a 2006 graduate and took the December 2006 Board Examinations. I started applying right after I passed the board examinations. Due to the fact that I would have to wait for my schedule for registration I didn't have the necessary requirements to pass to different prospective hospitals. I applied as a Korean English Instructor at first so that I can make ends meet before venturing into the field of nursing. After a month, I did my registration and carried on applying to different hospitals. It was very difficult since I had to really scout different hospitals and schools (I included schools to increase my chance of getting hired).

I was thinking of applying in Philippine General Hospital, Makati Medical Center, St. Lukes Medical Center, The Medical City, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Asian Hospital and National Kidney and Transplant Institute. But I thought to myself to trim down my perspective hospitals to those who are quite near at my residence. So, I trimmed it down to MMC and PGH. I know that it will take several months before I will be hired by the said hospitals so what I did was to apply at a hospital within the vicinity of my house. I worked at a private tertiary hospital within the vicinity of my residence for several months. It took about 3 months before PGH and MMC started to call me. I had to choose between the two so I chose PGH. After formally resigning to my current work, I transferred immediately to PGH.

Bottom line: The road to your preferred career path is long and winding. I know that most of you are already discouraged on how things are turning out. I have suffered the same fate (but I know that it is more competitive nowadays). Their are days that I have given up already. Don't let these hindrances get in your way. Strive harder and God will surely do the rest.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

I don't know why I suddenly wrote my experience. I just felt the urge to do so.

I dont think PGH will entertain emailed application or even if you submit your resume personally for staff nurses position because as far as I know this March, they are only entertaining applications for nursing assistants and they are very strict with it because they said that there will be separate dates/ schedule for passing applications for staff nurses but as of now they don't have schedule for it yet. If you doubt this information, you can contact them or if you're near pgh you can go directly to their office. hope this helps..

i agree. if they're entertaining online applications, i wouldn't have to travel to manila just to pass my application. i have an aunt who can pass my application already but insisted that i should have to do it myself, and that yahoo group only contains the requirements that are needed to be downloaded and done. also, through that group, that's their way to tell it's members that they're accepting applicants cos they only set a specific date on which they will be accepting your papers, therefore, if yours could either be submitted late or even earlier than the given date, it won't be absolutely accepted, well unless if you really knew somebody, or even depends on their moods, and right now, they are accepting applicants for nursing attendants ONLY!:D

Gambutrol and Burbeestar thanks for the reply...really, there's no hindrance if one really has perseverance and positive outlook...i'll do the walk-in or find the e-mail for PGH application anyways..Thanks mucho amigos/amigas :) GODBLESS

I already have the copy of the deans form. For those who wants the copy let me know. I also have the copy of the hiring process and complete list of requirements.

The DNRD (Department of Nursing Research and Development) of PGH created an online registry for nurses intending to apply in their institution.

Once registered, you can access the Files section wherein all the required documentations such as dean's form, list of requirements and the PGH recruitment workflow are located. Download and accomplish then wait for the notification in the email account used in the registry for the schedule of the submission of credentials.

No need to follow-up since the DNRD will notify all members in the registry as soon as there is already a schedule of credentials submission. As of this date, all application are for manpower pooling only.

For those interested to get the URL, send me a message and I will reply with the link. I believe gambutrol knows the link too since he is currently employed at PGH. I just got the link from sir chiongban.

Good luck to all of us! Patience really pays off! Move forward dear colleagues!

Gambutrol,

I hope you don't mind sharing your dean's from as well as the hiring process and the requirements. I'm trying my luck to find many hospitals as many as I can and see where I may be hired.. in God's will and time. Are you working also in PGH? I have this dilemma in mind that PGH is very strict regarding in their hiring process. Is that true that they are requiring yo to have board rating of at least 85% and above? I'm losing hope to apply in ultimate dream hospital which is the PGH. Please enlighten me especially those who are working right now PGH. You're reply is very much appreciated. THank you very much and may God Bless us all..
