any updates about nclex here in manila?
Pearson-vue has no set date as of yet. Earlier reports said it would be anywhere bet. 3-6 mos but most likely on the upper end of that range and when it does open expect a slew of nurses wanting to go in and even those who have tentative slots from other testing sites will try to re-sched to Manila.
Those who has their ATT now shouldn't wait for the center to open unless of course they are willing to wait and fight over the slots.
After NCLEX testing is available for Manila, HK will be the best alternative and the preferred site for those who are weary of possible security breaches and so forth. Expect some turbulence on the 1st months of opening of the test center and every one's eyes will be on it.
We'll keep everyone updated as soon as there is new information.

thanxs lawrence! in my case i'm still waiting for the eligibility from NY BON. my cvs had issued report last feb 19 and they receive the application form last feb 26. until now i'm still waiting for my eligibility befor i apply to pearson. i'm still hoping to take nclex here in manila but i'm doubting if i could take it smoothly here since as you said everyone will be watching on it and everyone would want to take it in here. so i guess it will be another stressor for me. and another thing, i only have 3 mos to take the nclex. thanxs again! God bless!
Expect the Manila test center to be much harder to see an open slot than what is HK now plus the HK testing center would probably be less of a hassle to make an appointment w/ by the time the Manila test center opens but where to make your appointment is entirely up to you and when can you make an appointment w/in the validity of your ATT.
Good luck.

double purposes of waiting for nclex to be available in manila (1) i can schedule the exam here, less expenses; (2) hk by then will have more slots.

The center, if it actually opens, is to be in Manila. But the Pearson-Vue website still states that they have no idea when it will be operational.Meaning that if you have an ATT, do not plan on testing in Manila. Will be after most ATTs that are out there expire.

I heard that NCLEX testing site will be in OLONGAPO SUBIC. Previously American Subic Naval base
There are no official news on where exactly will the testing center will be and such an announcement will be posted on Pearson-VUE's website and when that happens we will post it here at the Philippine sub-forum (http://www.allnurses.com/forums/f235) of http://www.allnurses.com.
Where ever it may be though, it must be in a place w/ excellent security, accessibility and w/ lots of hotels/motels and apartments.

Motels are not mini-hotels. The term means that they have parking directly in front of the rooms, versus parking in a big hotel parking lot. The M stands for motoring. They were originally near freeways or expressways so that travelers could stop and sleep for the night and get back in their car in the morning and leave.
Motels have a different connotation back in the Philippines.

Yes, that is why we are being corrected by a native American, of the right meaning or denotation of the word so that we use it right in the academic setting.
