The field of nursing varies widely across the US. Some places have new grads making $20.00/hr without shift differentials (making more money per hour for working night and off shifts/weekends/holidays) to $35.00-$40.00/hr depending on where you live. This reflects the cost of living in that particular area. California nurses are amongst the highest paid in the country...however it is also the most expensive to live with the average house costing in some areas $750,000.00 for a cracker box.

As an advanced practitioner you can expect to make more money and some sub specialties like CRNA that make more money on the average....usually in the six figure range.

here is one of the threads about this https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-discussion/nursing-salary-survey-895587.html

here is a job site that talks about state city averages....http://www.job-hunt.org/careers/nurses.shtml

You may want to ask this in the Canadian forum, since you are in Canada. You could also ask your uncle what he pays nurses, since it sounds from your other thread that you expect you'll be working there and have guaranteed work.

In that case I'll move your post to the Nursing in Canada forum so you can get feedback from Canadian nurses on how much they're being paid. Good luck to you!

You should be able to Google and find this information. In my province all the collective agreements and therefore all the wages are posted online.

Canada doesn't educate ADNs. Two year diploma nurses are LPNs.

Look at your provinces collective agreement for RN contracts, it's spelt out there. Hourly rate, shift and weekend premiums and number of hours to be worked between wage increases.
