Leaving Quebec to go to Ontario

Hi guys, I was wondering how should I start applying for jobs if I am now officially licensed in Quebec but I want to work in Ontario. Do I need to register with the CNO before applying or is it possible to get a job offer and then register?

I did hear it's now hard to get a job in Ontario, but it can't be worse than Quebec. My job now is temporary and I'm covering a maternity leave on a post-partum unit and I have no idea what I'm going to do afterwards.I don't have any other experience asides from my clinical placements.

I'm not sure about how to go about working in ontario but I can tell you there are jobs available. I graduated this june (2013) and am now fulltime at a hospital in london ontario and casual at a LTC. I have noticed a large need for Rns on acute medicine floors.

I think it would make sense to get your registration while you are applying. If you're offered a job, you will likely lose out on the offer because you won't have current registration in the province of Ontario. Start the registration process by contacting the College of Nurses of Ontario, so that you're ready to accept any job offer. In terms of employment possibilities, it is definitely a difficult time in Ontario. I think this is something you will likely see in every province though.

hi anna! i want to ask how long did you get your license and if u applied under quebec skilled worker? what types of jobs did u applied while waiting for your registration?

Are you fluent in French? It's a requirement to pass a French language exam.

What is attractive about Quebec to you? That should be your deciding point? The culture? Winter? Family ties?

You need to be fluent in French to have a good life there.

The pay is not the highest in Canada, the population expect their nurses to communicate in their language.
