Song lyrics that remind you of nursing...

Nurses Humor

Published

Every so often I'll hear lyrics on songs on the radio that remind me of nursing... Here's a couple of examples I've heard on the radio recently, unfortunately I can't remember who sings either of 'em...:monkeydance:

"I am barely breathing, and I can't find the air..."

"I have become, comfortably numb..."

Anyone got any more?

I haven't read the whole thread but I know "Every Breath You Take" by the Police has been over used but I will use it again for the NICU. Some days that all I do is watch breaths.

And King of Pain by the Police...'hoping that you'll end this pain" some days that feels like nursing and some days I feel like my babies would sing that if they could.

How about :

"Save Me" by Unwritten Law -reminds you of all the noncompliant pt.s you've had that are hell bent on self destruction.....

"You can't save me... you can't change me....I'm waiting for that wake up call.....Went to the doctor, and I asked her to make this stop.....got medication, new addiction, f'ing thanks alot! Had a relapse out of rehab...ruins everything, so point your finger at the singer....he's in the pharmacy....."

"My Hero" by the Foo Fighters-love this song, I think of nurses, and firefighters, police, and EMS......

"There goes my hero.....watch him as he goes.....there goes my hero, he's ordinary..."

And last but not least, this one makes me think of nursing school......not sure why other than it seems like they do try to break some of us.....

"Hero of the Day" by Metallica-we made a compilation of video footage and pictures of the entire time our class was in the program to play at pinning and set to music....I felt that portions of this song would have been perfect......

"Mama they try to break me.....They're off to find the hero of the day.....Keepers of the flames....do you hear your names.....can you hear your babies crying?"

There's a new one out... "keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding..." which I heard for the first time right after the shift containing a case of DIC that gave me nightmares. "And it's draining all on meeeeee..." I wonder if that artist with such a lovely voice knows the horrific mental images I get whenever I hear that song.

I don't know the artist but that song "bad day" or maybe it's having a bad day

Kiss This by Travis Tritt- great song to play on the way home from an aggravating shift or an unfair meeting with your boss. :banghead:

This song is by Aaron Tippen actually. I have felt that way too many times.

"I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell"

That would be Leona Lewis singing "Bleeding Love"

That snippet you have "and its draining all on me" is a little incorrect the correct lyric is:

And it's draining all of me

I love that song!

The song that somewhat reminds me of nursing (and my class jokingly said we should use during our graduation) is Danity Kane's "Damaged"

Do, Do you got a first aid kit handy?

Do, Do you know how to patch up a wound?

Tell me,

Are-are-are-are you?

Are you patient,

Understanding?

Cause I might need some time to clear the hole in my heart
