Song lyrics that remind you of nursing...

Nurses Humor

Published

Every so often I'll hear lyrics on songs on the radio that remind me of nursing... Here's a couple of examples I've heard on the radio recently, unfortunately I can't remember who sings either of 'em...:monkeydance:

"I am barely breathing, and I can't find the air..."

"I have become, comfortably numb..."

Anyone got any more?

Ryan Adams "Two"

And i'm fractured

From the fall

And i wanna go home

It takes two when it used to take one

It takes two when it used to take only one

I know it's about heroine. But it's so appropriate for my half demented pts with hip fx. They all want to go home and and maybe they were a 1 assist but after a hip fx it's certainly a max assist of 2 to transfer. Lol.

think its called 'Higher Love', by Steve Winwood. When he sings 'bring me a higher love' my Mum says it sounds like 'bring me an iron lung!!'

:)

yeah it very well be misheard at that

My coworkers on the LTC unit prefer "This is the Song that Never Ends." They replace it with "This is the med pass that never ends." Lol!

At our hospital we have a physical medicine rehabilitation unit and every so often a med/surg nurse gets floated over there.

"I don't wanna go to rehab!" I don't know who sings it but it has become an anthem for some.

"Blinded by the light..." don't remember what group sings it. (night shift nurse)

Rehab is by Amy Winehouse

Blinded by the light is by Mannfred Mann and the earth band

Oh man, there's a lot of Ryan Adams...like "Wish You Were Here"

"It's totally effed up...I'm totally effed up.....Wish you here!" (I have days like this)

Soul Asylum, "Oxygen":

"It's a couple more volts of shock treatment for you...When a couple more votes of confidence will do..

Just a couple more breaths of oxygen will do....but it's a couple more bills and a couple more pills and a couple more 'Why do you do the things you do??"

Paul Westerberg/Grandpaboy, "Psychopharmacology":

"I need something to calm me down, I need something to keep me focused...

Narcoleptic, paranoid, borderline hopeless...

A-D-D, P-C-P, *-*-*-K-E-D, that's me."

The Ramones, "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Gimme Shock Treatment"

Rolling Stones' "Mother's Little Helper"

The Replacements' "Treatment Bound"
