Interesting obstructions!

Nurses Humor

Nothing beats an interesting obstruction. I admitted a patient tonight with a 'lady partsl obstruction'. Root of the obstruction...candy cane. Yes, I said candy cane. How this woman thought that would be a good idea, I have no idea?!? lol

So let's hear your most interesting obstructions. This should be good! :candycane:

Thinking back on the candy cane...this woman must not have had very high expectations of her partner. I don't know about you, but a candy cane wouldn't do much for me ;)

Well, at least candy canes taste better than...um....certain things.

Shut up, CamaroNurse, shut up...

When I worked in general surgery we had a young man sent up from A&E with a cell phone stuck where the sun don't shine.

The phone was set to "vibrate" Turns out he'd spent hours calling his cell phone from his landline.

Needed a full general anasthetic to extract the thing. I just hope he wasn't on Virgin mobile!

Good telecoms ad: "Go on, make that call..."

I find all of these completely amusing:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:

Except that tampon thing. I was an office Ob/Gyn nurse for 10 years and this is really common and horribly smelly!:smokin:

"Can you hear me now?.......Good!"

Anyway, we had a man with a Grey Poupon jar inside of his rectum. Ended up with a colostomy, that one...

Well, there's a mistake right there, it should have been Heinz!

There's an awful video floating around the internet of a guy who decides to insert a glass bottle into... himself... while filming the whole thing. I guess that's what does it for him. Whatever. Anyway, the bottle breaks, and there's about a full minute of blood dripping (pouring) and pieces of glass being pulled out, before he sort of creeps off camera and the video stops ... ugh. Turns my stomach just to think of it, but you nurses would probably find it interesting!

:-) I wonder what glass shattering inside of you does to your insides. Ugh. :barf01:

i have seen that video before. it's just as bad as the videos of the guys putting tubber bands around their memberes and cutting them off.

A hair brush inserted bristle end first by her loving boyfriend. Had to have a GA but no perforation thank goodness! Also heard about an a guy that presented with a coffee jar full of drawing pins and tacks that he stuck up there! That had to be filled with plaster of Paris first of all to stop it breaking. Thankfully he had stuck it in base first. He ended up with a de-functioning colostomy.
