I cannot find a job!!!!!!! HELP

Hey everyone! i am a recent new graduate in memphis, TN and I cannot find a job :(! I am wondering what I am doing wrong? Seems like my cohorts for the most part have found jobs and I can't even get a call back! Is Memphis not really a good place as a new grad to start nursing should I start my search in other states? This is starting to get depressing!

Do you have a ASN or BSN? Are you willing to relocate? There are numerous new grad residency programs out there. Go to indeed.com and search "new grad nurse residency". You are in a compact state so you have an advantage.

Where have you put in so far? If you have only been putting apps in at hospitals you might want to broden your search and look at other places to try to find that first job. Have you considard clinics, Dr. offices, Home Health, Retirment Homes, VA homes and Hospitals, LTCs, Rehab, Hospice.

The main thing is keep trying, and know it is different for everyone when your time comes. Something will bound to show up for you, but you have to sometimes not be too picky, and if there is a particular place and unit you want to work at, it might be that if you take a year or two and just get some experiance under your belt someday that dream job may be yours if you are patient and wait for the right timing.

How many jobs have you applied for? What kinds of positions? Where are you looking?

Have you thought about posting your resume on the resume forum here? Take out ALL identifying info (locations, licensure, e-mail addresses, etc) and post.

How long ago did you get licensed? ADN or BSN? When did you start applying?
