What are some nursing jobs that involve a lot of travel?

I like the idea of being on the move. I love flying and don't mind all the hassle of going through airport security, checking in, etc.

It seems like a consultant job would fit the bill, but can you guys think of any others?

You only need 1 year experience, for an agency to work with you. However more is better.

Specializes in Critical Care, Education.

Informatics (EHR company)- systems implementation; Vendor rep (equip, pharm, etc); Regulatory 'visitor' (JC, CMS, state); Locums Administrator, NP, CRNA; Educator with specialty certification prep program; Corporate positions within a large health care system (like me)... including Quality, education, safety, audit, service line director, etc.

As you can see by my list.. these jobs all require considerable expertise/education. But travel is definitely a required aspect of the job. It gets old very quickly. Airports are not fun.

Then I'm not sure how you'd land a job as a consultant (one that would be paid to fly all over the place), without expertise in.....anything? Seems to me there's a reason those people are sent all over the country, and it's not inexperience....?

Nope. Would have to be pretty experienced for that, from what I've been told. No newbies.

Yeah, I was going to say "Cruise Ship" as well. I don't think the airlines are hiring any "in flight nurses" perhaps a new field?? There are usually positions with travel nurses in the mid east, but you are taking a huge risk there. Have you looked into Mexico or the Caribbean??

Well I have close to 3. But no more than 2 in any one specialty.
