Difficult questions from job interview

Hi guys!
I'd like to share some questions from my first job interview. Do you have any ideas how to answer them?

Why should we hire you?
What challenges are you looking for in this position(Med/surg)?
What personal qualities do you feel are important to be successful in this position?

I never no how to answer them. I wing it I guess. But I should start practicing answers I think I might leave my job soon . Thanks for this post. I can't wait to see some replies.

I am starting to think about getting prepared for interviews. I think preparing for an interview is a lot like preparing for the NCLEX.....go over as many potential questions as possible!

When I did the LPN, one of the required classes was a "job hunting" class. I dragged out the book from the class, it has interview prep questions. I think I will probably search the net too for more questions, so I can think about how I would answer them. I have a hard time thinking "on the spot" when asked things like you were asked! Hopefully I can go over potential questions and be prepared! Best wishes! Love, Jenn

I hate those questions too!! Here is how I usually answer them (the abbreviated version)
Why should we hire you? "I am a team player and have great people skills and critical thinking skills."
What challenges...? "I look forward to learning new things and applying that to my job."
What personal qualities...? "Compassion, good-listener, critical thinking skills"

Hope this helps somewhat. Nobody likes to be put on the spot during an interview...but you can always ask them questions too

I used to hate those sort of questions, too, but I realized later that they're very good opportunities to sell yourself.
This is where you sell yourself, present yourself, to your potential employer.

There are certain qualities they are looking for.
Find out what they are (probably being a "team-player", reliability, dependability, etc.), and present yourself that way......

Thanks to all for guidance.
I have some more questions:

What challenges are you looking for in this position? (Or maybe I should be initiative and ask them first: what challenges will I face on this job?)

Describe how you demonstrate professionalism in your activities? What behaviours and characteristic contribute to that image?

A great website for interview/career help is www.wetfeet.com.

Hubby uses it all the time to prep for interviews.
