Concerns about 'modeling' pictures

Nurses Career Support

Published

So I've got a friend who's thinking about nursing school but she has pictures that are posted on a soft core Mediaography site. The site owns several sets and policy is not to remove them completely, only restrict access to paying members only if you make the request. She's not ashamed of it at all in fact she's quite proud. She's a raging feminist :) though some people have tried to disagree in the past...

Anyway she's a brilliant student and very professional but the pictures are out there and they are full nude. Will they be grounds for termination in potential nursing careers?

Thanks for any info

Thank you all for the replies they were very helpful

I guess what we wanna know is in the case that the pictures were found by a supervisor who took issue with them would they alone be grounds for being fired?

Possibly; however. my argument would be that said supervisor is morally degenerate for searching me out at looking at my nudie pictures. It works both ways if somebody wants to make an issue of it IMHO.

Only if she wins the Miss America pageant.

Nothing illegal about what she has done.

I have a male friend who was recognized from some website modeling he did. When the patient asked him if he had been on the site, he just replied, "that is so kind that you think I could be on a site like that" and walked off. Even if she is recognized, she doesn't have to respond to that recognition by acknowledging or denying it. She will not be under any requirement to talk to patients or staff about every aspect of her personal life.

Unless HR/MGMT/ADMIN or whoever is doing the hiring goes above and beyond the call of duty to dig into her past, then it is safe to say she will be OK. She uses a stage name so google wont pop up her pictures. Remember that she has done nothing illegal, everything is in accordance with the law. Don't worry about google's image search either I tried it and it is definitely hit and miss.

Whats the difference?

One is just glorified dry humping and the other has penetration of some orifice. Guess which one is hardcore.

Unfortunately it's about embarrassment. And organization notoriously hate being embarrassed. That being said I know of more than one RN who models fetish stuff, and do it openly.

Just make a choice from now on, you have to live with what you have done, but from now on it's a choice you made for your future. Remember us RN's are Saints aren't we?

PS and don't be so sure you won't be found out. HR hires companies to do backgrounds, not sure why they spend the money on that for staff positions. There are ways to find you if your posted at all. All it takes is one email were you mentioned the pseudonym and you can be linked.

I wouldn't loose any sleep though, unless you have to lie about it on an application or something, just go forward and deal with it if it come up.
