If you work night shift, you are used to living in another time zone from most of the rest of the folks in your zipcode. Your "days" are their "nights". But you learn to live with it. Because of your working schedule, what are some of the things you do that get questioning looks from others?

I worked at a large hospital that had a bar across the street that catered specifically to night shift nurses.

I always got a lot of odd looks when I walked into work at 7PM and said "good morning." I always told them hey, it's morning in MY world!

Telling the oncoming day shift to "Have a good night"
Kind of like saying "You too" when the ticket guy tells you to enjoy your movie.

That late? 0715 and first round is poured.
My friends and I used to hold BBQs at my house after our long stretches on. Always turned into an all day pool party/food/drinks session. Man those were fun

Haha...I think this goes for anyone who works nights. I was just thinking I needed to get my partner a beer ready for when she comes home at 0600 tomorrow to kick off her weekend. I mean, it's her dinner time, right? For me, living this way is preparing me for what is to come when I am willing and glad to work nights. You just learn that time is a suggestion and you have to make the most of what you have and do what you need to do when you need to do it, daylight be damned!
It is our dinnertime. Our happy hour so to speak.

I recently overheard my adult daughter telling my other adult daughter, "She slept our life away." It was a joke but...sigh.
I choose night shift so we didn't have to do daycare and I never missed an in-school program.
