Chloroform used to be used as an anesthetic...I wonder how many folks didn't wake up from this concoction! Scary. Cannabis, morphine, chloroform, alcohol. Sounds like a party, all right. :)

Wow-I think this was invented by some of my drug seeking patients! This should be skillfully combined with a sammich and chips! Served up in the Emergency room!

Before I left work due to a disability, I worked in the NICU where we occasionally used Paragoric in withdrawing babies when all else had failed. We weaned it slowly depending on abstinence scores over a period of weeks.

Do any of y'all remember Donnagel PG? Basically kaolin and paragoric liquid with a faintly banana taste. You used to could buy it OTC. My grandmother kept a bottle in the fridge. It would take care of an upset stomach, and any child dosed with it usually slept a day and a half.
I remember when paregoric was the standard medication for upset stomachs, and colds.
