Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

World Registration

Published

It took 5 working days for me and my 2 classmates. 1 of my classmate has her AHPRA registration at Queensland. For me and my classmate it was At Victoria. We studied at Lonsdale Victoria. All i can say, registration outcomes depends on your case officer. I thought my officer was pretty strict and I predicted that I would get my registration after 2 weeks...but that wasn't the case at the end.

One suggestion also is to have CONSTANT communication with your officer. it is important when you recieve your eligibility letter and to let your officer KNOW that you will take Bridging Program. Inform the officer which school you will attend. Inform the officer when you arrive in AUstralia. Inform your officer the day you started your BP. Inform your officer that you are about to finish BP and the documents you have gathered for the proof of identity points. Inform your officer that you have finished BP. Inform your officer that you will submit your proof of identity requirements.

Hopefully, with this constant update with your officer, it might get faster. But I doubt it coz everyone has different outcomes.

Hi sbeattrix,

How's the bridging program at Lonsdale VIC? :) TIA!

hi xanxan! did you do your IRON program with Lonsdale institute? how was it? :) is the price (18500) worth it? tia!:)

Anyone here for IHNA January 2014 intake? :-)

Hi JoannaPauLaBandaLa,

Bridging program with lonsdale vic is quite good. it is literally hassle free since you have also paid for your accomodation and you just need to concentrate on the program itself and learn what you can. it is literally 12 weeks. bo early exit. if im to describe their program, it is literally a progressive type of learning structure wherein they teach you what you don't get unti you learn it. They won't give up on you and fail you immediately once you don't pass an assignment. They will give all their support to you until you successfully get the standard. So just perform well and do your best. what else exactly do you want to find out?

BP is just basically the Duty we have done during our nursing course. Lonsdale has their placements on rural areas because they have practically understood that foreigners are needed in rural areas. And they also have chosen that exact same placements for the fact that rural people are much more friendlier and welcoming as opposed to city people. Softens the impact of cultural difference. PM me if you need more info. As usual, just double, triple check if your planning to continue with this path especially is your going to borrow money from loaning agencys. Job market is pretty pretty tight. Even if you have 7 years experience in O.R. or whatever kind of experience you have, it is still hard to find a job. I believe its all supernatural. Meaning, its all in God's time.

hi guys, any idea or updates about the Assessment of Competence Program at the College of Nursing for next year's intakes?tnx a lot

HELLO,

I'm for the Feb 2014 intake probably at IHNA or WLI. I'm kinda excited but what bothers me is finding a nursing job after bp. I've read a lot about others not being able to get a job in Australia after bp but I still need to take a risk. God bless us all.

Thanks JoannaPaulaBandala. So far, none found. But as in every application, whether English speaking countries, MiddleEast or Philippines, we just need to persevere. When it will rain, it will pour.;-)

anybody here for LTU's January bp?

Does WLI already have dates for their 2014 intakes?

Hi,

I would like to inquire if the confirmation email is always sent to the applicant once the documents are received by AHPRA.

I submitted mine 2 weeks ago.

Hope you guys can respond to this query. Thanks.
