Im a fresh grad under BSN from the Phil., Is it possible or am I qualified to take a NCLEX-RN exam in new york considering I didn't yet take the licensure exam in my country and having a nonimmigrant visa??

Need info or advices ASAP for this. thanks a lot !

heyy kababayan!! i graduated from Philippines too and now I'm taking the test for NY license... but the case is I'm a Citizen here, they didn't require any license for me from the phil. but there's a lot of requirement, and I waited 6 months for the process... I graduated 2008, this is my 2nd time to take the test. :-(

Helo! thanks. I wish you luck for your exam.. Well, at least, you've met all the requirements.. It's just one step away.. Good luck

hi sorry for the late reply, they have some few requirements and really cost a lot, 350 for CVS then for the application, bring some copies of your diploma ad transcript too, i advised you to really go to NYSED site and search for all the steps and requirements... thanks!

i just graduated this march in philippines, and i passed my application for NCLEX on april with my fees, explanation letter (I'm an immigrant here). i was surprised the CALI BRN asked me for additional requirements such as my Class schedule, registration form, RLE copies with my CI's signatures. Im bothered coz I told my friend about this and they were surprised coz what they know is, they weren't required or asked by the BRN. i am so anxious!

The BRN can ask what ever they want and just because it was done one way for some doesn't mean it will be the same for you. BON/BRN always change things.

thank you so much.. and another thing, they're asking for Transcripts to be sent to them ALL education that i took prior to my nursing program.. so this means i need to pass my highshcool transcript? or both HS and elementary?

we have the same problems .. i also sent my application this june and was asked to submit the very same requirements as yours.. i tried researching.. and i found out that h.s transcript, unfortunately, is a prerequisite to "all education/ training received prior entering nursing program."

this is so frustrating.. :p

@kristin: yeah, just try to pass all the reqt.(HS trancripts). I have my eligibilty after 2 weeks I sent all the additional reqt. they asked from me.

All requirements will be on the CA state website however you need a SSN before you can file your application. If already in the US with a immigrant visa unless the state requires English exam then you don't need to do it. CA if I remember rightly doesn't require English exam. CA are hit and miss to whether you require a local license or not, some have made it without a local license and others haven't
