Im a fresh grad under BSN from the Phil., Is it possible or am I qualified to take a NCLEX-RN exam in new york considering I didn't yet take the licensure exam in my country and having a nonimmigrant visa??

Need info or advices ASAP for this. thanks a lot !

do you have SSN already? I already have my eligibility from CALI BRN after 2 weeks, after i sent them all my additional requirements that they asked from me. I didn't take NLE in Ph. I didn't take ielts, toefl also.

Just go california bRN site and the step by step guide is there.

hi there just wanna ask if they required you also bunch of paper works like clinical rotational plan and enrollment forms from years you spend studying nursing?

looking forward for your reply.. thanks :)

yes, they asked for my clinical rotation, my RLE with CI's signatures, time and date.

thank you so much.. and another thing, they're asking for Transcripts to be sent to them ALL education that i took prior to my nursing program.. so this means i need to pass my highshcool transcript? or both HS and elementary?

I took my nursing prerequisites (anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pschology 1&41, etc.) here in California. Since I was on the waiting list for the nursing program here, i decided to go back to the Philippines and finish BSN. BON also asked for so many additional requirements including 'Transcripts to be sent to them ALL education that i took prior to my nursing program. Since I went to 2 other colleges prior to going to enrolling to the BSN program in the Philippines, I had those 2 colleges (where i took my nursing prerequisites) send my transcript. You should call BON and clarify what they mean by what transcript they want. If you only went to 1 nursing school where you also took your nursing prerequisites, then I don't think they need your high school transcript. You should definitely call. Though it doesn't also hurt if you send your high school transcript. Just saying all this to save you time and to really clarify what documents BON wants from you. G'luck!

the one u've graduated from. Because the old one send ur transcript to the school you've graduted from

Hi! I would like to ask for a step by step process on how to file for the NCLEX. I am here in Craven County, North Carolina. I checked the NCBON website and it is not too clear for me.I earned my BSN in the Philippines. Thank you

all instructions should be on the bon website

looks clear enough to me to follow

1. documentation of comparable education to that required by graduates of nc nursing education programs

to be mailed to:

ncbon

exam department

po box 2506

raleigh, nc 27602-2506

2. evidence of english proficiency

3. *valid social security number

4. *satisfactory criminal background check

*required prior to license being issued. examination may be taken prior to completion.

north carolina board of nursing

I have to agree with Silverdragon it's also pretty clear to me what the NCBRN is asking, no critical thinking necessary. If there is something you don't understand then contact the BRN to assist you. They get paid to answer your quetions. Good Luck

anyone can help me how to start letter of explanation to BON CA?? i'm a permanent resident here but i graduated from the philippines..someone told me since i am a green card holder no need to write LOE to BON?? pls.help!! thanks..

can anyone help me? i just moved here in new york without taking the local boards in the phils. and i only hold a non-immigrant visa. i have someone here in ny that would sponsor me and can give me a limited permit if ever the process of applying for nclex would take more than 6 months. (i can only stay in the us for 6 months(tourist)). i'm a bit confused on what to do first. i understand that i should pass the form 1 to cgfns and wait for their reply, should i also pass the form 5 (limited permit) with the form 1? i've read some of the posts here that when you pass the forms to cgfns.. you should also contact nysed and apply for nclex.. is that correct? thanks!!:)

Process will take more than 6 months just to get CVS, also what sort of work visa are you looking at? That process also takes longer if H1b then can't in most cases be applied for until April with start of Oct and there is generally interview, plus experience is generally required as it is a specialized visa.

Do not apply yet as NY Bon will not touch your file until they get CVS and same goes with registering to Pearsonvue do not do that yet in case there are issues with your application. Usual processing times for NY is 8 months. You are on a tourist visa and can not extend it. So will have to consider returning home

Using a tourist visa to gain employment and hoping to stay here isn't going to help you as you're not authorized to work here. If you have an employer willing to sponsor you then they should be helping you with the paperwork for a H1b visa. What is your specialty and how many years experience do you have in that specialty as that's going to make a huge difference in getting your H1b visa approved legally. Good Luck

thank you silverdragon and nursecubanita for replying..

yes, I know that the process will take about 6-12 months. that's what i'm worried about because my i-94 is valid only until september 20011 (6 months). i don't want to go back to my home country anymore because it would cost a lot of time and money. my sponsor could hire me right after i pass the nclex-rn. i'm not sure what type of visa but it's probably the H1b.

That process also takes longer if H1b then can't in most cases be applied for until April with start of Oct - i'm confused about this. sorry..

i've done some research and found out that i or my sponsor can apply to extend my stay here in the U.S. 45 days before my i-94 expires. if my application for extension is approved, I will be issued a replacement i-94 with a new departure date and hopefully get the whole CGFNS - CVS - NYSED - NCLEX process done by the time my second i-94 expires. :)

but if my application for extension is not approved.. i really consider returning home because i would never ever overstay. my question is.. if ever I get an eligibility letter from NYSED, can i register to pearson vue for ATT and take the nclex-rn back home? or... if ever I get an eligibility letter before my i-94 expires.. can i take the nclex right away and file for H1b?

Do not apply yet as NY Bon will not touch your file until they get CVS - but the CGFNS site states that i should have applied to NYSED before mailing my application. this is so confusing :|

Before signing and mailing your application, check to see that you have:

□entered a response to every item

□included, in Item 3, every form of your name that appears on your application documents and any necessary proof of your other names

□completed the enclosed Authorization for Validation of Registration/License Forms and included them with your application

□completed the enclosed Authorization for Academic Records (Transcripts) Forms and included them with your application

□signed the application and have had your signature notarized

□included credit card payment, international money order or certified bank check for the full application fee in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. bank, payable to

“CGFNS.”DONOTSENDCASH.

□applied to New York State Education Department

thank you so much!! i really appreciate your time and effort for helping me out. God bless!
