Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Try to personalise your CVs from each employer and you would really have to think very carefully on what to include on your cover letter.Look it up on Youtube or google things about how to make better CVs. Trust me, it will make a BIG difference!

thanks so much PogzRn!

I have 1 yr medsurg and 2 yrs of haemodialysis experience from the Philippines. I have finished the bridging program in Oct 2012, offered a job as a dialysis nurse late March 2013.

Hi teyang. Hope you are still checking this forum out. Have sent you PM. Hoping your able to reply.;-)

I couldn't send it in your PM,

no need for walk-ins, they wouldn't help since they would direct you to their websites.

I only had 2 pages for my CV--short, straightforward, all my credentials in it

I've been rooting for NSW or Sydney so all my call backs are from this area.So far, I have had 3 interviews!=) I got the jobs from 2 public hospitals and 1 private. All were panel interviews done on the phone as I was out of the country by the time they set up the appointment for interview.

I have 1 year OR experience and less than 2 years Med-Surg. All job offers are for the Theatre RN,

Wow. that is impressive. 2 pages only and yet you got their attention! and NSW! I keep on revising and revising and revising my answers to the selection criteria as I keep on researching and see how the others made theirs...Regarding public hospitals for NSW...how many months was the shortest and the longest before they called back?

Thank you so much for your infos. I have a friend who has 6 years of O.R. experience....and it has been 2 months with no call backs. So we're following your advice regarding rechecking of CV and cover letter. Hoping we would see some changes...

Thank you sbeattrix for respponding.

I've emailed the link last night to confirm it, im still waiting for their reply. Today i will try to apply IHNA Melbourne and IRON Melbourne for early 2014 intake...Anyone who could send me link for IHNA Melbourne ans ACON, I would greatly appreciate.Thank you

Hello... How is everyone doing? Can I please ask for your advice? I applied to only two institutions for the bridging (ACN and Mercy Health). Yesterday I received offer letters from both (must be my lucky day yesterday :woot:) -- ACN's January intake and Mercy Health for their February 2014 program without the need for an interview ('cuz MHTI normally conducts interviews before the offer). I'm torn as to which one to accept. Any thoughts, please? Thank you very much in advance.[/quote']

Grab the MHTI. They are quite reputable here in Melbourne.

Hi.

Any graduate of CON or ACN here? I read their pathway of registration and they have a 15 week timeline. Did it really took 7 weeks after your graduation to obtain your AHPRA registration?

I just applied at IHNA melbourne for march 2014.is there anybody who could be my future classmate? :-)

Hi Manzoor! So you will also be our future classmate?:) Are you for IHNA Melbourne or Perth?

With regards to your questions:

1. I had my MRSA clearance at St. Luke's. No need for special preparations, it is just a screening swab.

2. I did not submit an insurance certificate. Just the necessary documents for visa application.

3. The Australian Embassy will send a referral letter for your medical exam few days after you have lodged your visa. Based on my experience, I have submitted my visa requirements last November 8 and received the notice for medical last November 14.

Hope I was able to help you.

God bless!

Hi! Where did you have your medicals? St luke's or nationwide?

That is just the timeline that they provide given all factors, like how long it would take for the assessors to return booklets, etc. But that would be the least of your worries. Finding sponsorship after will be the thorn on your foot!!! But still, all the best. ACON has a good program :)

Thanks DreamCatcher14 for helping me out, I am for IHNA Melbourne. What about you?

Hi! Have you lodge your visa app? Thanks

Are you currently studying at ACON?
