Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hello, Anyone who have answered the IHNA e-learning course? I would like to ask if ever it is enough to answer all the workbooks in the modules or should I still need to comply assignments like case study, research posters, literature review, etc. as stipulated in the course assessment summary? please enlighten me. Thank you so much.

Hi! The registration certificate is the PRC certificate of registration. Hope this helps you!

if I want to pursue a masters degree in Australia. Do I have to do the bridging program or go straight?

Contact university. There are many Master programs if you require a nursing undergrad and need to be working in the specialty of the Masters, yes, if it is a research Masters probably No. Many universities require 1-2 years experience before acceptance into course.

If it is the grad program to get first nursing degree if you are a graduate of another degree.....possibly you will not be given entry as you already have a nursing degree and graduate masters are not designed to be used like that.

If you are hoping the Masters will make you more employable, possibly not with no experience to go with it.

You cannot work as A nurse at ant time, all until you have AHPRA registration.

Hi sasaabad! Did you send me an email already? The one with skyvendrei? Not really sure if it was you. :)

I wouldn't say that my experience in gaining my Australian nursing registration has been a walk in the park. Firstly, I had some difficulties getting a slot at the IRON-approved schools. With the vast amount of applicants interested to join the programme and their more recent and extensive hospital experiences, I was at the lose ends.

Although I am glad(should be ecstatic!) that I got my registration a month after placements, the dreaded job hunting soon followed. It's been quite a journey, I have received enormous unsuccessful applications and constant updating and a 2-month tweaking of my CV and cover letter. No matter which website I was on, the phrases, "WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP/S" or "MUST HAVE LEGAL WORKING RIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA" were my signifiers that this was the end of the line for me. For when I lost hope, I gave it all to Jesus. With my fervent prayers, I could say that I am blessed that I got not only one, but 2 job offers from one of the biggest hospitals in Sydney. To top it all, these were the jobs that I have been praying to land. God is indeed good!

Hopefully, by God's grace, once my visa application goes smoothly, I would have to start my journey as a Nurse in Australia.

Guys, please don't lose hope. When you feel like you have been left behind and been left all alone, He is always there to listen. All you have to do is call unto Him. Miracles do happen!

Hello... How is everyone doing? Can I please ask for your advice? I applied to only two institutions for the bridging (ACN and Mercy Health). Yesterday, I received offer letters from both (must be my lucky day yesterday :woot:) -- ACN's January intake and Mercy Health for their February 2014 program without the need for an interview ('cuz MHTI normally conducts interviews before the offer). I'm torn as to which one to accept. Any thoughts, please? Thank you very much in advance.
