Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

If you do a google search you will find out what APHRA is and their website which will also have all the relevant information you require to register as a nurse in Australia

Thank you so much, I already did, I have googled it already and I have the idea already. I have read the 5 criterion and I do believe the only lacking document is my IELTS results.

thank you so much.

I have another question regarding my post earlier, My aunt wants me to study Bachelors in Nursing at Canmberra University amounting to 23000 aus dollors annually, do you think it is the same the bridging program? I really don't know anything about this.

Thanks- Pardon me with my english.

hi.. i am for the june25 intake at acfe.. anyone here who could possibly become my classmate???

Hi, I have been reading this thread for quite sometime now because I am really interested to take the BP in Australia. I have few questions though, and I hope I could get answers here... Few things about me, I already took the IELTS last April 2012 and my OBS is 7.5, I graduated last 2009 but only have 6 months nursing volunteer experience.

Here are the questions:

1) Is it okay to send my papers to AHPRA first or should I wait for PRC (to send my Certificate of Good Standing)and IDP (for my IELTS result) then send my papers? I understand PRC and IDP have to mail the respective documents.

2.) For NBI, I already have it but there's no "FOR AUSTRALIAN NURSING STUDIES" written on it. Do I need to apply for a local NBI and another NBI for abroad purposes again?

Please enlighten me on these. Thanks so much.

hi, i am new here.. I already have my eligibility letter from ahpra and already sent an application for bridging program in IHNA/VCHN. They replied and asked for IELTS and recommend to enroll in their online course which is Introduction of Bridging Course Program. My concern is: Is it a trend nowadays to apply for a preparatory course like I mentioned for a nurse to qualify to a Bridging Course Program?

hi!

here are my answers (which obviously are based from my experience). i just got my loe earlier this month, so here it goes:

1) what i did was that i sent all the papers, contacted british council, and went to prc all at the same day. i think the assessment of your papers would not commence until they have received all of your papers. so what happened in my case was that, the three papers arrived in different days — maybe even a week apart. and there had been no problems whatsoever. perhaps you could wait for a couple of days, and make an enquiry on which papers have they already received.

2) i didn`t submit an nbi clearance. here is a representative`s response to me about that same concern:

thank you for your recent enquiry. please be advised the application form agos-40 only requires you to attach documentation if you answer ‘yes’ to questions 14 or 15. if you do not have any criminal history in australia or any other country you do not need to attach a statutory declaration stating this information.

hope this helps. good luck! :)

1. No, you don't have to wait for your certificate of good standing from the PRC and your IELTS from IDP.

2. it should be for travel abroad
