Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi,

I submitted my application 2 weeks ago and I was verbally advised to be on the list of over 350 applicants. My possibility to undertake the course with CON will be in May next year. I got offer the course in August with ACFE but I am in doubt about their validity.

hi, are you going to pursue your application in ACFE for august admission?

thanks

Hi arah m,

I am keeping this option in my mind but I won't pay the fee until I can sort out this matter. I don't blame acfe but I don't understand the logic of accepting the applicants for August, while the license is only valid til 30 September 2012. Do you know what I mean? I saw previous posts mentioned about this issue. Actually, I want that person to guide me the idea. He is probably busy with his bp by now. Anyway, I will do what I can.

Hi, I do understand your concern, well the best thing I can do right now is to hope that everything goes well with their reaccreditation. I'll check APHRA's site tomorrow and see if there's any change on their status.

Hi do you think la trobe still has avail slots for january 2013?

Hi arah m,

I think this issue is may be nothing. But we need to be careful about it. I have called and emailed several organisations such as ANMAC, AHPRA, Nurses association in NSW, NSW Health and ACFE itself. I have not got the satisfied answer yet. The admin rang me yesterday to organise all the requirement with them, like payment. I keep praying to God to help me to find the solution.

Hi Mark,

I received emails from LTU, RDH to submit my application for Jan 13 intake, and from Deakin Uni for May 13 intake. I want to take in this year course if I can because faster you get the registration, the faster to get the job. I have already got offer RN position from my current job but I still want to have experience working in hospital. My suggestion is that it is better if you try submitting your application to other providers and do your research.

hi guys! :)

is AAON a good school for bridging? i'm planning for the jan intake. my agent told me i'll have a phone interview anytime. so, can someone please give me ideas on the possible questions they're gonna ask? it would be of much..

thank you so much! :)

Hi princess, I think you need to be aggressive on this one. I encountered problems with aphra, the email account they registered is different from the one I'm using so I didn't received the updates and my loe on time. So I think it will be better if you can give them a call...

thanks arah. I inquired a week ago and said they are still assessing my application. I happen to observe just now all the mails i got from them starts writing my name with a mrs. instead of ms. I'm just bothered maybe this is one of the many reasons why my loe hasn't approved yet?because it simply defines a married woman :( ,. by the way, how long did it take you to receive your loe?

hi,

according to **** (course coordinator) they are still under the process of re accreditation. I just hope everything goes well since I already paid the full amount of tuuition.

Hi arah m, I have decided not to go ahead with ACFE. I found it is too risky wasting $12,500 for being unable to be registered after completed the course. I received advice from ANMAC stating those providers who waiting for re-accreditation are on the list of inactive course. My husband called and talked to one of higher position ladies in NSW Health who deals with clinical placement of bridging course. She said if she were me, she won't take it. I don't want to scare you, but want to post for someone who has not taken the course to look at the accreditation date before applying. Eventually, I for university of Ballarat is still accept the application of this year intake. I was lucky enough to talk with an application officer. She suggested me to submit the application after did a little interview with me. I will try it. Just do more research and you will find something that suitable for you. Good luck for your course.

Hi,

I just talked to one of their application officers today. They are quite choosy to accept the applicants. They have a record of 100% of their students successful in completing the course and employment. I faxed them about 30 requirement papers. Now I am waiting for tje response. I can share the interview questions with you after my interview which I don't know yet.

I told her that I want to undertake the course within this year then she told me I could get in either end of August or early September, that is what I am looking for. The most important thing is that their accreditation will expire in 2 years time. I am waiting for their response. I got offer from ACFE but I let it go because I am doubt about their re-accreditation. Do more research before you make decision, that is what I want to say. May be I am over precautious, but that is what you should do to not to make mistake. Am I talk too much? Sorry.
