Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

I told her that I want to undertake the course within this year then she told me I could get in either end of August or early September, that is what I am looking for. The most important thing is that their accreditation will expire in 2 years time. I am waiting for their response. I got offer from ACFE but I let it go because I am doubt about their re-accreditation. Do more research before you make decision, that is what I want to say. May be I am over precautious, but that is what you should do to not to make mistake. Am I talk too much? Sorry.

no problem, it's ok. it benefits me a lot though.. they are still open for end of aug? i am under an agent here in the philippines. they offered me to undertake in october but i was not able to raise enough funds last month. that was the deadline they gave me. including the course fee, materials and consultancy fee, they are collecting 14,000AUD. :(

You must remember that to be refered to a bridging program you must have at least a 7 for all parts of the English test, you need to have done a bachelor degree in your home country and have at least 2 years full time equivalent working as a nurse in your home country for Ahpra to approve you for a bp

i got all that you've mentioned except for the working experience. i only garnered approximately 1,900 hours work but still ahpra approved my application. maybe they are considerate now.

That's great! Sounds like they are

hello, can anyone enlighten me pls reg this path that Im choosing too. (BP)

Basically, im 26 years old, I have worked as a staff nurse-MS unit, in a tertiary private hospital here in Quezon City Phil. I just filed my resignation this august effective September to pave way for the very elusive IELTS requirement. Im now carrying 4 years 5 months of work experience.

1. Does ahpra require currently working status to be able to commence application or somehow speed up? does it even matter?

2. Is private duty nursing in a hospital setting acknowledged as a filler while I wait? since I already resigned. I can however go back as private nurse instead since no contract applies for that.

3. For the new applicants, Are we to expect changes in the standard/requirements of Nursing board in Au? Coz I usually hear, they usually change/upgrade such yearly making it tougher i guess. especially IELTS haha.

Thank you guys in advance. God bless

Hi,

They all the same infos. Date of approval changed only.

They won't tell you exactly when. Just submit application and wait. In their website stated that application for August intake has already closed but I think there will be someone couldn't make it. Finger crossed. I think the course itself is about $11,000, you probably pay an extra to the agency. However, hope we will be in the same course.

Hi question; is it true that your ielts must be valid during the registration after your bp or it doesn't matter anymore since you already took the bp? Thanks
