Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hello fellow nurses, my application dilemma is over. :) I did my homework and read oodles and oodles of information about applying. Now I have another dilemma: 12000 Australian dollars is quite a fortune. Does anyone here know about an institution that provides financing for tuition? Another question: How much would it cost me to live in Australia for 3 months? Thanks.

If you have 2 years of exp you can go to philman they can help you on your application and they can be your backup at AG for financing

I have actually been there. However, I don't have two years of employed experience. I think I can go about the application on my own, and I think my parents can pay for the tuition and all, but I just want to lessen the burden on my folks. :) Thanks though. :)

I can't find the AHPRA requirements thread.

Can any of you please help me with collecting all the requirements for getting a letter of eligibility from AHPRA, Im trying to read as many threads from this site but I cant find a COMPLETE set of requirements. Such as TORs, course descriptions, ielts of 7 and all...

I also looked into Ahprahs website but i cant understand the specifics on what documents i should send to their office. My parents dont want me to get an agency because of the risks that's why Im alone in fixing my papers and i really need your help! :)

Could any of you PLEASE post on this wall or PM me a complete list of requirements for AHPRA, PLEASE :) GOD BLESS! :)

you can inquire at IDP. i also heard that deakin university offers a "study now, pay later" program. but im not quite sure about that. this school is synonymous to UP in terms of standards. so, a bit tough.

with regards to the cost, 150-200 thousand pesos may be.. to be safe, you need to have 250 thousand i guess. i got this quotation from my cousin who lives in adelaide : Accommodation varies according to where you stay but is about $220 per week if you live home stay with someone, or your can share a house for about $150 per week.

Food will cost about $80 - $100 per week for one person.

Transport by bus is about $35 per week.

My agent told me i will have my interview next week. I'll share the questions when i'm done. by the way, when are you starting the bp? or are they going to decide which intake you'll have?

Hi Bigbrowneyes,

Have you got an interview with AAON yet? I am going to do it on Monday? Can you suggest me what are the questions? Have you passed the interview? Thanks for sharing.

ohh sorry, not yet.. i've been waiting for the call this week but my agent said they didn't push through with calling other applicants as well. they might resume next week. my friend who's now starting her bp at IHNA told me it's more on personal experience in the hospital, and the like. i think this interview will just make the application formal. if an applicant really has an experience working, it won't be such a big deal at all, i think. :) so guys, let's just relax and not be anxious. we can beat this interview. :)

Hi Bigbrowneyes,

I think you should prepare yourself abit if you want to get in the nearest slot. I personally spoke to the application officer of AAON. She informed me about the interview time on Monday. I ask her if I can go for the October intake. She said it is depended on the outcome of the interview because there is high volume of the applicants. They will select the suitable ones for the course because they want to keep their 100% successful record. Well, I will have an interview on Monday. I can share it with you if you want. Be prepare.

Hi bigbrowneyes, my questions were;

What do I do when I experience difficulty with patient, relative or colleague?

What is my strength?

What is my weakness?

What do I do when I work under pressure?

Talk about my previous RN experience.

How is my finacial status to undertake the course?

Talk about current work experience?

They really test your ability in answering questions.

I think it was ok, I am waiting for the result. May be tomorrow I will give them a call.

Good luck with your interview tomorrow and I hope that we can get into the same course. ^___^
