Hello fellow nurses, Brief background: I am currently a registered nurse in the UK with a valid Tier 2 visa that expires in 2017. Recently, I have been offered a job at a really good hospital, but apart from providing a certificate of sponsorship, I have to lodge my visa application myself. I have already done my research, in fact, I have actually independently applied for the visa I currently hold. I have gone through the website and am aware of yhe revent change in rules. I am now looking into changing sponsors, therefore switching from Tier 2 general to Tier 2 general within the UK. However, some parts are leaving me confused and I was hoping any of you could shed light regarding this matter: 1. English language- do I have to take the IELTS again? I understand that there may not be a need to do this as I have already proven my proficiency due to my previous successful application. The complication is, as of now, the IELTS result has already expired. 2. Maintenace funds- do I still have to prove this, now that I am in the UK? My potential employer is an A rated sponsor. However, I also have my dependents with me at the moment. Please help. 😣

Which BP providers DO NOT require 2 years experience? I have been checking the websites of WLI, AAON, and Deakin University among others; and years of experience is not indicated. Please help..I have less than 2 years of experience.

Check the AGOS-40 form from AHPRA's website. The documentary requirements to meet each standard are mentioned in the form. :)

Hi Adharrarn, AHPRA actually defines experience as: Practice means any role, whether remunerated or not, in which the individual uses their skills and knowledge as a nurse or midwife. In accordance with the Recency of practice registration standard, practice is not restricted to the provision of direct clinical care. It also includes working in a direct non-clinical relationship with clients, working in management, administration, education, research, advisory, regulatory or policy development roles and any other roles that impact on safe, effective delivery of services in the profession and/or use of professional skills. Practice hours may be recognised if: * you have practised your profession for a minimum period equivalent to three months full time, within the past five years * the applicant held valid registration with a nursing or midwifery regulatory authority in the jurisdiction (either Australia or overseas) when the hours were worked; or * the role involved the application of nursing and/or midwifery knowledge and skills; or * the time was spent undertaking postgraduate education leading to an award or qualification that is relevant to the practice of nursing and/or midwifery. I have actually been there. However, I don't have two years of employed experience. I think I can go about the application on my own, and I think my parents can pay for the tuition and all, but I just want to lessen the burden on my folks. :) Thanks though. :)

Hello fellow nurses, my application dilemma is over. :) I did my homework and read oodles and oodles of information about applying. Now I have another dilemma: 12000 Australian dollars is quite a fortune. Does anyone here know about an institution that provides financing for tuition? Another question: How much would it cost me to live in Australia for 3 months? Thanks.

By the way I studied the contents from the AHPRA website which have proven to be quite useful. Hahaha. I think I can do this. Sendembong, my scores actually got lower from the last time I took the IELTS. Got three 9s. But then my results expired. Preparations? Well, I'll tell you something, I actually teach for the IELTS and my scores now are quite embarrassing given my extensive experience. I always tell my students to keep a journal. (You know, so that they could get used to writing in English). Another tip, READ. Read a lot, read when you have the chance to. XD

I've gone through the AGOS-40 and most requirements there were clear. I'm working on my CV at the moment, and I think it's finished. (I tried to stick to the guidelines) Can anyone send me a copy of his/her CV so I could just compare?

Congrats! Where did you send your application? Based on what I've read, Western Australia takes a long time to respond. Is that true? :)

Most HC workers are exposed to PTB hence +PPD. I don't think you'll have any problems with that. After all, a +PPD is not definitive for PTB. :)

I tried inquiring at PhilMan but they told me they require at least 2 years employed experience. I only have 6 months and by AHPRA's standards I am actually qualified. I only went there because I wanted to avail their financing. When I asked them about this, the attendant told me that even if I processed the application on my own and got a letter of eligibility, they still would not assist me. That left a bad taste in my mouth. I was hoping to get a loan through its finance company but I felt I was denied there and then. Did PhilMan ask 2 years of experience from you?

I'm new here. I am so confused, please enlighten me. I already have the necessary requirements for my AHPRA (or at least I believe I do). IELTS=L=9 R=8.5 W=8.0 S=8.0 OBS=8.5. I also have a copy of the following: 1. birth certificate with Local civil registry copy 2. PRC License (actually I have a certificate of good standing that says that my license is being renewed, it will expire in December but I have already applied for renewal last February, it's still unavailable) 3. Passport 4.Board Cert with Board Rating 5. Certificate of good standing 6. AN incomplete CV (i'm so confused as to what I need to put here) 7. NBI Clearance 8. Diploma and OTR 9. Summary of RLE 10. Course description (already requested and I think I'm about to receive it) 11. Certificates of employment Here's my concern, I really don't know what to do with them! I decided to contact a Consultancy to process my application. (I haven't paid yet) But the service they offer for 90 thousand pesos is only until I get an eligibility letter. I thought that they would help me apply for a loan, for tuition and all, but I was mistaken. It appears that they would only provide such service with an extra charge, alongside the application to a BP school. Now, I'm planning to apply on my own. But I'm too scared to do it. I might make a mistake. Oh, good grief! I need your guidance. Thanks. :)
