Marie, you are my kind of woman.

I don't think it's any more acceptable for a woman to be a catty backstabbing gossiper anymore than it is acceptable for a man to be incapable of "keeping it in his pants."

The excuses we make for behavior!!!!

Then it's not a gender problem is it?

If the boss is a female it is.

It all goes back to freudian psychology which blames the mother for every mental ill under the son.

I hate gossip. Gossipers smell that, and have an irresistable impulse to punish me for it. I live with it. Keep your nose to the grind stone.

i can proudly say i don't have this problem mainly because i mind my own business and i pick and choose who to talk to at work. i am well liked at my job and most of my coworkers consider me "quiet and sweet" because i don't come to work telling all of my personal business. this method of dealing with work place madness works for me.

Ahhhh the age old dilemma regarding ALL of the human race.

Don't let one bad experience spoil the job....always going to be that "kind" of person in EVERY job. Sometimes it does help to try and think maybe they have serious issues in their life.I had a House Coordinator threaten to write me up the other day for not moving a patient room to room...fast enough. Come to find out her Dad has CA,is dying and her mother has STM issues and is living with her. Doesn't excuse it but sure helped me to feel empathy, instead of the other not so nice things I felt.

I try to avoid the back stabbing.I hope I am successful.
Grandma used to say," If you can't say something nice....don't say anything at all." Pretty good advice,I think.

Life is short, play hard, eat dessert FIRST and live like you were dyin!

    It's not, 'So Totally Mean'?
