The Mockery of Nursing

Nurses Relations

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

Hello everyone. I recently graduated from RN school but I wanted to know if I can take LPN boards. LPN NCLEX is a piece of cake and I probably won't even have to study for it. What do you all think I should do? Which was harder, RN or LPN boards.

My answer: Both!!!

But then again, I know you're probably not really hating on genius nurses, right? ;)

I hope not, it's genius nurses like you and me that keep things going! :)

it's almost mardi gras. the colors on the king cake are traditionally green, purple, and gold. suppose we just all go eat one of those and call it a night.

I cannot believe a professional nurse is talking about canine stool!

How immature!

:p

Let me tell you, around noon each day, I feel like a LTC nurse. My home has become a doggy nursing home with all the meds the pack takes each day. My drug drawer will soon have to be replaced with a med cart. Life for me is people poo all night, dog poo all day.... :)

But I thought nurses didn't have to deal with actual poo.....Don't you have CNA's to do that kind of stuff?

The only problem is, of course, the thread would have to be started by a pre-nursing student, which you yourself amply noted you are not. I wonder if we have any volunteers?

;)

Ooh, ooh, me! One of my favorites:

New grad nurse: "I'm so stressed out, it seems like there are no open positions in my area. Where are all the nursing jobs?"

Seasoned nurse: "I don't understand the problem. I had an easy time getting hired...15 years ago. You must be doing something wrong, since the economy hasn't changed."

And

Nursing student: "One of my professors has done something really unprofessional. Who should I report this to?"

Seasoned nurse: "Boo freakin hoo, so everyone is supposed to be "professional" towards you?"

Also

Seasoned nurse: "...nurses eat their young."

Nursing student: "So you're saying that's normal, that nurses "eat their young"??"

Seasoned nurse: "Where did you get that from? I'm really sick of hearing all these new nurses saying this "nurses eat their young" thing."

This one brought back the memory of a pre-pre-nursing student tech we had on the floor. I say "pre-pre" because she still had to pass high school (get a GED) before applying to community college for pre-reqs, before applying to the nursing program. So yes, in other words, an expert.

Her plan? Get that sought-after RN after her name, then continue to work as a tech while collecting an RN's salary. Ummm....what?? Yep, she figured since she would BE an RN, they'd "have to" pay her as one, but she didn't want to have the responsibility so she'd just keep her tech job.

Let's just say, she wasn't going to be getting into NASA anytime soon, either.

What I would really like to know is why do you think you need to post the same thread three times, if you don't receive replies within an hour of posting the original?

These would be the same people who tell you they are at work right now, their patient doesn't look good, what should they do? Ummm...how about GET OFF THE DAMMNED COMPUTER and talk to your charge nurse or any other live nurse THERE with a clue??

YES!

"Uh, excuse me... you can't go into VFIB yet, I don't know what to do...I need to check in with the forum first. Thank you."
