The Mockery of Nursing

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

Yup... been done already.

What about the "I want to be an NP but want an online only program. Can you help me find one in my area?"

Oh yes, and it must not require the GRE, reference letters, a GPA higher than 2.0, must find my preceptors for me, not require more than 3.5 hours per week of my time (because I DO have a life here) and allow me to receive a DNP in less than 2 years. Hellllooo? Anybody?

Just saw/replied to a post regarding not being able to wear nail polish -- something along the lines of "We have to give up soooo many things to be nurses. Our money, time, and life while in school, all our time, holidays, our families, can't have fancy hair, can't wear jewelry, fine, but I can't even wear nail polish now?"

Um, really? Yeah, I get frustrated about working weekends, not seeing my family and being too tired even when I do see them... but nail polish? This is the straw that breaks the camel's back? Okay........

This thread is what I've been missing here for a long time!

Love it!:yelclap:

Oh, and even though it's only going on 10:30am here--you all are such a bunch of meanies!!;)

I am a totally hot guy in my mid 20's. I hear that it can actually be dangerous for us totally hot guys to work as nurses among all those female nurses and MDs. Tell me, do you really have to have sex with all of them to avoid getting written up? That is what I am hearing...:crying2: Also, how do I hide my stunning good looks? Any ideas?

Someone posted that? Please, can you provide link? That is a thread I really need to see!

The men's nursing forum :yelclap:

A few years back, especially. There were several conversations dealing with "stuff" as they say - usually quickly knocked down and put in place by other male posters.

Edit: Could have been the male student forum, I'll check.

Second edit: You won't have too much problem finding some fun stuff!!!

It only gets dangerous if you go to the same Crossfit class. You need to check out P90X. A few weeks of P90X, I litterally had to start wearing an XL top with Med pant size bro!

:yeah:

Oh gosh, snort! I gotta get a tissue, laughing so hard my nose is running!

Wear bigger pants.

In that case my advice would be: Speak to them. With an attitude like that, having one good convo would be more than enough to ensure your safety.;)

"Tell me, do you really have to have sex with all of them to avoid getting written up? "

Dude, its not like you have to do it on the spot. Plus write ups are more of a "tag your it" anyway.. All it is, is foreplay homie, most of the time there is a phone # attached to it anyway.. Either way you will get your alone time with the door closed & maybe even a witness(on video if you really lucky)!

"I don't know what that staff nurse's problem is. She had such a bad attitude to me! It started when I was watching her do a wound dressing change, and she USED THE WRONG GLOVES!!! She was SUPPOSED to use STERILE gloves, I know she was, I read the protocol and the policy- plus my book said so. SO I asked her WHY AREN'T YOU USING THE CORRECT HANDWEAR? And she ignored me! I mean the patient's family heard me, why didn't the nurse? I asked her again, and even held out the correct gloves to her- I even waved them under her nose and insisted she put them on because she was TOTALLY going to give that poor guy MRSA. But she ignored me. Maybe she was losing her hearing, since she was an older nurse and all. The point is, I STUDIED that skill, and I PASSED it in lab and I'm a 4.0 BSN student!

Maybe it's because she was only an associate RN. She didn't know any better... good thing I'll be graduating soon with my BSN and I'll be able to get a job at the hospital and show her the ropes!

PSHHH! Associates!

(Disclaimer: I'll be completing my ADN-BSN in 9 little months, and it's a good accomplishment. I'm not slamming BSN's...well, maybe a couple of them, but only the ones who come in from the "most reputable nursing program in the city" that has a 60% NCLEX pass rate, with their high and mighty attitudes, who promptly give the wrong patient someone else's Amiodarone and then cry that the eMAR was "confusing".)
