Anyone applying for the ABSN program at Winston-Salem State University this year? Just wondering if there were others out there who would be in the same boat.

Has anyone heard of funding this year?

Does anyone know how they rank applicants?

Thanks and Good Luck to all!

Not sure, ATR... this thread is about the Accelerated program at WSSU which is a 13 month program that requires a previous bachelor's. You should be fine getting into the traditional program, in my opinion, but I would try looking for a different thread that could help you more! Sorry :(

Is it normal to accept, complete entrance counseling, sign a master promissory note for a certain loan amount and then have that loan amount changed/reduced because you were later allotted a scholarship?!

I don't understand!

I got the RWJF Scholarship, and my loan amount that i accepted, completed entrance counseling for, and signed a master promissory note for was reduced?!

I think it says it in the MPN somewhere.. but basically they can adjust the loan amount you are eligible to receive at any time especially if certain factors change - such as your EFC/if you are awarded any other financial aid/etc. Everyone who got the RWJ scholarship probably had their loan amounts decreased because technically they wouldn't "need" the higher loan amounts anymore since most of the tuition cost is covered by the scholarship (I know they forget we have to have shelter and eat too :sarcastic:) You might be able to call financial aid and get them to increase your loan amounts again though.

Anybody know if we have clinicals in a cardiac rehab and/or telemetry unit? My first degree is in exercise science so I would like to get some experience there to see if I want to do that after graduation.

Can any of the new class let us know when your orientation is? The last class came and visited us at our orientation last January and answered questions and our class is dying to do the same for you all!

What is the inclement weather policy for absn students? Do we still have to go to class if the university is closed?

What is the inclement weather policy for absn students? Do we still have to go to class if the university is closed?

We only had 1 class day with inclement weather and we were the only ones on campus so the university did not "officially close" so we had to come. Basically, the university has to close. There was one Sunday where I know they delayed clinicals due to inclement weather.

Unfortunately, we spend a lot of time as the only ones on campus so they don't worry about us. Like today, definitely the only ones there today....

I was wondering if anyone had their parking passes for sale from the N12 cohort, and possibly a red bag as well?

I missed all the opportunities to get either one of these :( I wasn't feeling well and was just able to get texts/emails sent out for everything. :(

Hi all............I am also looking for a parking pass from a N12 so if there is one out there still available please let me know. Thanks, Sondra Morris

What exactly is the class schedule like? What is the earliest you had to be there and the latest you got out? I'm going to be commuting from Asheboro and wondering if this would be possible. thanks!
