Anyone applying for the ABSN program at Winston-Salem State University this year? Just wondering if there were others out there who would be in the same boat.
Has anyone heard of funding this year?
Does anyone know how they rank applicants?
Thanks and Good Luck to all!
I think it says it in the MPN somewhere.. but basically they can adjust the loan amount you are eligible to receive at any time especially if certain factors change - such as your EFC/if you are awarded any other financial aid/etc. Everyone who got the RWJ scholarship probably had their loan amounts decreased because technically they wouldn't "need" the higher loan amounts anymore since most of the tuition cost is covered by the scholarship (I know they forget we have to have shelter and eat too ) You might be able to call financial aid and get them to increase your loan amounts again though.
What is the inclement weather policy for absn students? Do we still have to go to class if the university is closed?
We only had 1 class day with inclement weather and we were the only ones on campus so the university did not "officially close" so we had to come. Basically, the university has to close. There was one Sunday where I know they delayed clinicals due to inclement weather.
Unfortunately, we spend a lot of time as the only ones on campus so they don't worry about us. Like today, definitely the only ones there today....

Not sure, ATR... this thread is about the Accelerated program at WSSU which is a 13 month program that requires a previous bachelor's. You should be fine getting into the traditional program, in my opinion, but I would try looking for a different thread that could help you more! Sorry
