UNC Chapel Hill May 2012

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hi, anybody out there applying for the BSN May cohort for 2012?

I am! I live in California right now but plan is to relocate to NC in the future so if I get accepted, guess we'll be moving next year!

I have not applied to any other schools because they all want more pre-reqs from me. First, I want a BSN not an ADN (or A.S.). Two, I am first degree student so I couldn't apply to Duke. ECU is too far away given my current family arrangements. All of the community colleges want additional classes from me too. I have to get into UNC! I centered my curriculum to satisfy their program and their program only. The waiting is killing me too! I will be heart broken if I do not get in.

I applied to GTCC's and PCC's programs, but I really would finally like to get into UNC. This is my 3rd time applying to UNC SON (2nd for BSN) so I've got my fingers crossed, and I'm trying to not get my hopes up too high.. but there's always a little piece of me thinking "what if you get it this time?" HURRY UP MARCH!!

This will be my second time applying to UNC after the first time I reviewed my app with the advisor and she suggested I retake stats. I retook and got an A- so hopefully that does the trick... fingers crossed. I am living in Spain so the transition if I do get in will be a hard one, luckily my parents live in Cary. UNC does not give you a lot of time to prepare.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Hey Y'all!

First I want to wish y'all good luck with the application. The wait is unbearable. I am not a BSN student, but I am an ABSN student. I just started in January and boy, its going to be a wild ride, even for the BSN. Just a hint for the letter, it should be in the size of a 5x7 envelope. That's how my cohort found out and it will be on MYunc eventually.

I wish y'all the best and if any of you has any question after being accepted about compliance, housing, transportation, please do not hesitate to ask me. i wish I had someone who could've gave me the heads up.

So feel free to message me here and I will be more than happy to give you feedback and answer any pressing questions you may have now or after acceptance. Also, not all the letters got to everyone at the same time (that darn post office).

Once again good luck and I hope to see all those new faces in the summer!

Seeing friends and posters on here get into Duke is making me even more antsy to hear from UNC.

No kidding... Mogget, I am looking at your screen name and thinking we must be related. ;)

Related through UNC hopefully ;)

Recently found out that they are planning to mail stuff within the next 2 weeks - they also had approximately 400 applications for this cycle, and they are planning to enroll 96 people. That timeframe makes sense because after creeping on last year's thread, it looks like most people got their letters in the mail on March 9th! Anything can happen... just trying to block it out for now. Fingers crossed that everything works out the way it's supposed to in the end. :)

400 applicants ugh!!!! I think that made me start having heart palpitations. It would be nice to know before the 15th like it says on the website. How did you hear how many applicants?

Ugh so basically 1 out of 4 people going to get in. Eeeeeeek! I am trying not to worry about it too much. I just can't help it. Talk about your future on the line. That's how I feel about getting into this program.

i heard that the envelopes come in different sizes... like if you're rejected then you get a smaller, standard size envelope and if you're accepted you get a 5x7 (like a picture) is this true???

oh btw UNC students received their envelopes today....

I think this is true, I was rejected last year and it was in a standard sized envelope and I have heard that acceptance is in a 5x7.
