  1. I got my acceptance yesterday! This was my second time applying I am really excited but now have to think about moving to chapel hill. Anyone else who will be new to the area? I guess I need a roommate!
  2. Yes it is upsetting I really thought I had a chance after retaking my stat class but I guess I am not what they are looking for.
  3. I was rejected as well. : (
  4. No problem! So after being rejected I called UNC to review my application which I would suggest for anyone to do if you don't happen to get in. Basically she said there were positive and negatives to my application. The positives being that I currently and for the past 4 years have been living in Spain, so I got a little check for foreign experience and another language. I also am a teacher here and that was a positive and that I had a lot of experience ( I was a nurse aid at a peds clinic for 2 years in college). The negatives she said was that I made a C in Stats. She strongly hinted that I would not have much of a chance with this grade if I was to apply again without retaking it. She also talked about my essays and that they needed to be developed more. I guess when I wrote them the first time I was writing them more to the point and resume like and they want more descriptive etc. Hope this helps!
  5. I think this is true, I was rejected last year and it was in a standard sized envelope and I have heard that acceptance is in a 5x7.
  6. 400 applicants ugh!!!! I think that made me start having heart palpitations. It would be nice to know before the 15th like it says on the website. How did you hear how many applicants?
  7. This will be my second time applying to UNC after the first time I reviewed my app with the advisor and she suggested I retake stats. I retook and got an A- so hopefully that does the trick... fingers crossed. I am living in Spain so the transition if I do get in will be a hard one, luckily my parents live in Cary. UNC does not give you a lot of time to prepare.
  8. And yes they mail a letter to your house. They also change your status on MyUNC page but I think that happens later. Is this your first time applying? I have read so many posts I can't remember if you mentioned that before.
  9. I know randomly I will be somewhere and freak out that I didn't submit my transcript or something. I went through this process a year and a half ago when I applied for the ABSN. I drove my mother crazy having her check the mail everyday. I have my fingers crossed that second time is a charm...but I am a little worried since the competition seems to have gotten stiffer with the cutbacks etc.
  10. Figured I would say Hi to everyone who is playing the waiting game like me! I am ready to just know the answer either way. From looking at posts from the ABSN application cycle people seemed to receive their acceptance letters at the beginning of October. Which is way less than the estimated 12 weeks they say we should have to wait. I am really hoping that is the case for us. It would be so nice to know our outcomes in a little more than a month!
  11. Thanks so much I will definitely call as soon as I hear something from them.
  12. Thanks for the advice do you know who you spoke with?
  13. Thanks Aubreys Mama I am thinking it is a no for me this round. I have been driving my mother crazy calling her from Spain everyday to see if I got anything in the mail but still nothing. I will apply again for the summer admission and hopefully have better luck that time around.
  14. Thanks for the info Aubreys mama and congrats on your good news!!
  15. Where the corrections for the 24 month only program? I am waiting to hear about the ABSN program.
