Hi, anybody out there applying for the BSN May cohort for 2012?

I am! I live in California right now but plan is to relocate to NC in the future so if I get accepted, guess we'll be moving next year!

I am also applying for the December 22nd deadline. I am very nervous! I have great grades (very few B's) and a variety of volunteer experiences in healthcare. I just hope my essays are what they are looking for. After all, I am a Science major not an English major. Good luck to everyone who is applying. Just thinking about the competition to get in makes me cringe!

Something to consider...I researched the UNC School of Nursing website just recently and the only financial aid available is loans for our first summer session. No grant money or scholarships through the School of Nursing till Fall!

Figured I would say Hi to everyone who is playing the waiting game like me! I am ready to just know the answer either way. From looking at posts from the ABSN application cycle people seemed to receive their acceptance letters at the beginning of October. Which is way less than the estimated 12 weeks they say we should have to wait. I am really hoping that is the case for us. It would be so nice to know our outcomes in a little more than a month!

I talked to a friend who applied last year for this cycle, and she said they found out mid-March (I guess they mail a letter to your house?). I almost feel like I didn't apply because you never hear a thing after you submit your app! Ha.

I know randomly I will be somewhere and freak out that I didn't submit my transcript or something. I went through this process a year and a half ago when I applied for the ABSN. I drove my mother crazy having her check the mail everyday. I have my fingers crossed that second time is a charm...but I am a little worried since the competition seems to have gotten stiffer with the cutbacks etc.

And yes they mail a letter to your house. They also change your status on MyUNC page but I think that happens later. Is this your first time applying? I have read so many posts I can't remember if you mentioned that before.

Good luck to everyone! One more month! The website says after March 15th they will notify all applicants. I have a feeling they are going to make us wait until then with no remorse.

Good luck, guys! Did y'all apply to other programs or just UNC? I also applied to Duke... I would think most people applying to the two-year program are in-state (considering the fact we only get notified 2 months before classes start!). UNC is tough on out-of-staters...

The wait is the WORST!!! I've also applied to ECU and NCCU, but UNC is my first choice. I firmly believe that if it's meant to be it will happen, and I'm hoping and praying that now's the time! Good luck to everyone!
