Wagner Fall 2013 ABSN

U.S.A. New York

I just submitted my application, anyone else looking into this program? Wondering how much they weigh TEAS scores vs. GPA vs. experience?

IIRC from reading local SI newspaper (The Advance) awhile ago Wagner stopped using GHA for graduate students once Foundation Hall was up and running.

If you are not familiar with SI and are considering living off campus am here to tell you despite the bucolic and suburban nature of the place, Staten Island has wicked traffic during much of the day. This is of recent (post 1980's or so) as the place was over built with new housing and people flocked to the Island. Clove Road is one of the main arteries to the SI Expressway and is often backed up especially morning and evening rush hours. This means the further away from Wagner's campus you live more time should be allotted. More still you are taking public transportation.

I will be taking two buses (short trips) to the s53 and then once on the s53 in bay ridge, its always about 30 minutes or so. I hope that will be the case. I can plan to commute during off hours: if we have class at 8, 9 or 10am, I will leave way earlier to beat traffic, allotting study time in the AM. If I have a late class, I would go again during off peak hours (12pm for instance). As far as traffic, we are in school, so we are on our own schedule. You can always beat traffic- getting to Wagner earlier means study time! Precious to nursing students.

I have an on campus housing application in- and from doing some research and hearing what other people have to say I may be leaning towards that now. I requested to be put with other second degree nursing students-so I am hoping that others are going to go that route too

I finally got my letter of acceptance from Wagner! I had an interview last week with them and I was told I was conditionally accepted but wanted to have it in writing before I got excited. I'm almost positive I'll be attending here, I want to hear from UMDNJ before I make a final decision, but I would love it if i was. I'll be a commuter from NJ if I were to go there but I'm excited nonetheless!! hope I get to meet those that are accepted. Here's to our future!

Congrads! Did they tell you when you would have to have your deposit in by with the final decision to attend?

Thank you! They said as soon as possible because the class fills up. I'll probably pay the deposit this week to secure my place if anything and then just lose the deposit if the other school accepts me.

this thread did kind of die...Congrats on getting accepted!!! I am going to commute from LI...hoping the class times wont be that bad! Anyone have any idea????

When I went in for the interview they said it would basically be an 8-5 or 9-5 type of thing and that they weren't sure if it would be Mon-Thurs and Mon-Friday. I was also told that there could be some Saturdays. I'm still waiting to hear from another school to decide whether I'm going to Wagner or there.

Where on LI are you commuting from? I'm from mid suffolk and can't imagine commuting.

Hey everyone! I just joined this site as I have been accepted for this fall as well!

I am very excited for this 15 month journey! I would just like to find an apartment first! haha

I know, I can't wait to start! Housing however is still an issue.

You might try the local Staten Island newspaper (Staten Island Advance) to look at apartment classified listings. Being mostly one, two and multi-family homes lots of people rent out half of a house type apartments. These are built as two or three family homes. Avoid at all costs places that have carved up "rooms" out of larger apartments. These are not only illegal but dangerous.

Thanks for the info!
