  1. Hi lddt19, Our exact schedule is on the U of R website. Here's the direct link. Sometimes the allnurses admin will remove the link so if that happens just google University of Rochester APNN Semester Calendar. http://son.rochester.edu/assets/pdf/Y%20JAN%20Incoming%20%20Spring%202014%20calendar.pdf The semester schedule changes based on tests and classes but for the most part it is around same each month. Usually 2 classes per day sometimes with lab. I would try to live as close to school as possible. You guys are coming in the summer time so snow shouldn't be an issue.
  2. Hi all! I'm part of the cohort before you. Congrads on your acceptance! It's an amazing program! I hope you guys are getting ready and excited to start the program. I joined this site before I started the program as well and it was super helpful to connect with a current nursing student so feel free to contact me if you guys have any questions in general, about the program, classes or tips on where to live. Hope you guys are enjoying the few months before before school starts!
  3. No problem - Just sent you the link. Let me know if it doesn't work. I would post the link here, but allnurses website doesn't allow public fb links on their threads
  4. I just started a fb group for the Jan 2014 co-hort. Message me and I can send you the link.
  5. The two programs I'm comparing are (University of Rochester & University of New England in Portland, Maine). Please see links below. University of Rochester School of Nursing and University of New England - Catalog - University Catalog 2013-2014 - Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (17 Months) Looks like there's extra classes missing from the 12 month program?: Maternal/Child Care Nursing Research
  6. Does anyone know why some accelerated nursing programs are different months in total for school? I thought there was a minimum for school hours/courses and clinical hours in order to take the NCLEX? I'm in the process of picking between a 12 month ABSN program and 17 ABSN month. I did look at the semester course guide and it looks like some classes are not included. Other than spending an extra 5 months of money and time is the only benefit experience? Is there any reason I should pick the 17 month program over the 12 month program? Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated! I can provide the course guide showing classes for both if it helps!
  7. The name of the facebook group is: UNE ABSN Class of 2015 at the moment it is a private group since I'm sure not everyone has told employers, family, friends...etc they are planning to start school in December so I didn't want it to pop up on people's newsfeed. If you want to send an email to [email protected] I can send you an invite link to the below. ]
  8. I'll be coming up to the Rochester area this Sat, Sun, Mon (Oct 5,6,7) to take a look at the area. Would be interested in meeting up with any students currently in the program. Email me at [email protected]
  9. I just got my call today as well! Anyone live in the NYC area? I maybe taking a trip up there as well. Willimina - I maybe in the Capital Hill area in Seattle in November in case your in town.
  10. Sure Jess - I'll private message you.
  11. Hey Jess - At the moment I have chosen a different school but here's what I was told: The tentative schedule for your first semester will include 1 full day a week at our program site in Liverpool for clinical lab and classroom. Your first semester this will be on Tuesday Then you will need to plan additional days to come onsite to practice your clinical skills in the skills lab. You will have exams onsite on Friday mornings at the Liverpool program site. Your exams won't begin until approximately your third week into the program. Your hospital clinical schedule will be assigned when you get started in the program. Your second, third, and fourth semesters, you will spend two full days a week at hospital clinical locations and you will have one full day here on site for exams / clinical lab & classroom.
  12. Just a heads up - there's a fb group for those who already accepted to UNE ABSN for this fall (Dec 2013). So class of 2015. Message me for the details to get added to the group.
  13. Hi Jessy - I believe they all are in the same area. Have you found out anything else about the program?
  14. Anyone hear back on any updates? I emailed them and they said its still in the works. Wondering if anyone has heard anything else?
