I just submitted my application, anyone else looking into this program? Wondering how much they weigh TEAS scores vs. GPA vs. experience?

hey!!! I actually have a few questions....do the clinicals start right away? Bc my schedule just seems so overloaded and I remember from my interview that clinicals start 6 weeks in? How exactly does the schedule work?

Also, regarding insurance - I am above the age where I can be under my parents and need to leave my full time job for the program so is the insurance provided by Wagner enough or should I look into additional primary insurance?

As far as a calandar...does this program follow the main college calandar on their website? Any information can help! here is my [email protected]

@Jabbs1026...not too sure about the insurance thing...I came here straight out of college so I still am under my parent's plan..sorry.The schedule for first semester will seem very confusing at first but don't worry- it's not as overwhelming as it seems. The SIM lab only will meet once for the entire semester. I think you have two SIMs for the fall so that just means coming in to the nursing resource center twice for the entire semester. And it's pretty fun. As for clinical- you will go on site at Egar nursing home at around 6 weeks I think...before that you will be on campus for clinical learning skills like wound care, catheters, etc. As for the schedule, it followed the regular calendar. You will have almost an entire month off in December for the holidays and you will have the same spring break and 3-day weekends that the rest of the undergrads have (minus the PA students who have a different schedule). And then of course the summer is different and you will go from July through August. Hope this helps!

hey all.

for those of you that want to pre order the text books cheap, go to the page for the wagner college book store and click on the link for textbooks.

find the classes and sections you're registered for, get the book list, and search on amazon.

the medical dosage and calc book i got on abebooks.com

the book here is the only one i could not find for cheap:

FUND OF NURSING W/DOCU-CARE ONE YEAR

i HIGHLY recommend getting them cheap now and not waiting until last minute, as the prices they list at the bookstore are ridiculous.

about the Facebook page- can you send a link? it may be private so i cannot find it.

For the Facebook page just look up 'Wagner College ABSN Fall 2013' and you should find it without a problem.

hey. maybe it is a private group. it is not coming up in the search. at all.

try setting the group to public or taking off by invite only if that is the current setting and ill check tomorrow.

I had it set to private but it said people can see the group they just can't see the posts if you're not a member of the group. Not sure why you couldn't find it. I changed it to public so hope you can now. :)

It still doesn't come up but I think word will get around once the program starts. We are all going to get connected I'm sure.

I really don't know what to tell you because it's changed to public so now anyone can find it. You must not be looking right then. Try to look for it in groups rather than just typing it in to the search box.
