Hii every body. i just received a letter saying that i 'm accepted to the nursing program in college of mount saint vincent in ny:yeah: . However, i need human developemnt 2, economics, world literature class, religious studies, but i have 60 credits. The admissions told me that i can take this core classes along with the nursing classes. Also , they told me that i can start the clinicals only on fall 2011.I've finished all science classes. I 'm accepted to the fall 2010 program which basically means a year to do the clinicals. I can only graduate in 2013. Is that too long. Should i take this core classes any where else. I 'm confused abt gng to mount. Right now, i 'm studying in lehman college. How is the mount saint vincent nursing program overall and hw z the clinicals. How long does it take. How is the professors and all. Please expalin abt the nursing classes and all. Is clinical placements guranteed after u take nursing classes in mount saint vincent. Can some body help me by answering the questions. It would be very helpful for me to know. I want to know the procedures for the nursing program. I 'm happy as well as confused at this moment.

I just filled out my application and had my transcripts sent to CMSV. However, if their ABSN program is not yet accredited, this isn't even an option for me. Does anyone know anything about this school, except that it's much lower on the tuition scale than NYU and Pace? A 45,000 flat fee is way cheaper than -22 or -16 a semester.

An upside is it says if you get your application in by June 1, you can expect to hear back by June 15th.

I applied for this program as well. If anyone is interested they are hosting information sessions at both their bronx campus and their midtown manhattan campus - I am sure all questions about accreditation will be answered. There is one this Monday at their manhattan campus. Also, the director of the program has been helpful in answering questions if you email her. Her email is found on the accelerated nursing program page.

Thanks petunia!

I was accepted to their ABSN program for the Fall. I have chosen the Riverdale campus. The school is completely accredited with NY state Board of Nursing. I attended one of their information sessions and the head of the program was very helpful. I am excited to begin school here in the Fall. If anyone else has been accepted please feel free to message me.

Hi all, I've also been accepted for fall 2014, is anyone on here definitely going to attend this fall? Also if theirs anyone in this program it'd be great to hear your feedback on this program..

@macklf @pcrown1 congrats on getting accepted!! I too was accepted for fall 2014, will you guys for sure be attending the program?

hi everyone, i am currently looking into this college. i have a few questions:

1) what is the average GPA of students that are accepted into the program

2) i have a 3.6 gpa, do you think i have a chance of being accepted?

3) how many students do they accept a year? or is it by semester?

4) i got a C+ on one science course, are they going to accept it?

5) what are the requirements for the program in order to get accepted?

please reply asap, thank you!

Natyiela, I was just accepted to the accelerated program at their midtown location. They will not accept a prerequisite course with a C+ grade...I know this because I applied last year and had to retake microbiology as it was the only class I did not receive a B or higher. With your GPA I think you will do just fine at most programs, as I had a terrible undergrad GPA but had straight A's in prerequisites.

Will anyone be attending CMSV in the fall at the mid-manhattan location?

Hey everyone! I just received an acceptance letter in the mail today. Wondering if I should go...

@green_eyes89 Were you accepted to the riverdale or midtown location?? I think I have finally decided that I will be going to their midtown location in the fall!

@Ativari I was accepted into their Riverdale location. I don't remember if I had picked that location when I filled out the application or if they even asked, but I live much closer to the Riverdale location than Manhattan, so that would have been my preference anyway. Someone I know had a bad experience with the Nursing program at this school (I don't know much detail) but I believe this occurred at the Riverdale campus. I am not sure if I am going to send in a deposit to save a seat after reading some of the older commentary on this website. I don't know much about the school yet.

Cannot understand why it seems (via comments) that CMSV's nursing program in particular the ABSN has so many problems. Know they are or were separate but the Sisters founded/ran Saint Vincent's hospital programs in Manhattan, Queens and Richmond for years with very good results. In particular the Manhattan program developed many advances in nursing including standards of care that are still widely used nationally today.
