What did you do the day before your test date?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hey All! Just wondering what some of you did the day before your test date. Personally, I plan to go to six flags, and wear myself out on roller coaster rides :D After all this studying I'm excited to go out and do something fun!! My anxiety has been terrible this past week, and I think going out and loosening up a bit will help.

did my hour and a half of studying in the morning as I had done for the previous 2 weeks, and I don't remember at this point since the kids were still in school (took it June 1).

I studied. Couldn't help myself. Lab values, content, etc. Didn't need any of it on the exam

I tool my NCLEX PN AND RN (July 12 and July 16) PASSED THEM BOTH, I stopped 85 on PN and 80 ON RN, what I can suggest: Develop your critical thinking with hard Q & A's. I used the newest edition of Lippincott's Q&A, to tell you the TRUTH, they were even harder than the REAL NCLEX question, i was just doing 60-70% of the Question's results i felt terrible and stupid read all rationales and it was worth it! questions on nclex are SIMPLE AND CONCISE. I myself was even thinking I was never on high level questions till i realized I've had more than 5 SATAs and 4 Drag and drop for both exams.

What i did the day before? went shopping got myself VERY BUSY i even went home midnight literally to kill myself in bed right after shower. it helped because i was able to rest!

PS: I am a foreign grad, I challenged the LVN exam in CA, and RN on WA state. btw can anyone tell me how long is the wait LVN license?

You can't work as an LVN in CA, and then an RN in WA. But the LVN license takes about 3 weeks.

I actually had to work, so I looked up key lab values, but stopped studying by noon. Then I just relaxed for the rest of the day. I wouldn't study hard though, you need to be refreshed for the exam!

I didn't do anything nursing/NCLEX related.

I enjoyed lunch with my best friend at our favorite restaurant. We enjoyed a couple of alcoholic drinks. I spent the rest of the day enjoying time with my family. I showered, pulled out my favorite outfit for the test (because I'm a big fan in looking good when you need the confidence to do something well), and went to bed early.

It took me a little over 60 minutes to pass my test. My test shut off in 75 questions.

These are awesome thanks for sharing! This may be strange to some, but the morning of my test I may do 50 questions or so because I've noticed that the first set of questions I usually do is rough, and it takes a good 25-50 questions before I start answering questions with more confidence. I'm not cramming or, getting an extra 50 questions of practice in before the test. It's kind of my way if "warming"up I guess lol

I went out to lunch by the water and then I went swimming. I was tempted to study, but opted out and had a pedicure instead :) My exam was at 2 PM the next day, so I also got to sleep in. I ended up passing in 75 questions!

My advice to those about to take the NCLEX is to not study the day before. You probably won't retain a lot of new information and you definitely deserve a relaxing break. It is still nerve-racking to sit in the Pearson testing center waiting for them to call your name and begin the test...but once the test started I found that it was over quicker than I expected and that it was not completely dreadful. You can do it!!!

I did my regular Sunday routine grocery shopping and laundry. My test was on a Monday I was tempted to study but I didn't If I didn't know it then I wasn't going to now it a ay before the test..I tried to relax as much as possible but , I couldn't. I had so much anxiety it was crazy.:bored:

Failed RN NCLEX 2nd time after a week review $500.oo drove 1 hour each way. Then after studuied straight two weeks. This Nclex test is the genous people out there. I took my LPN 9 years ago and it was nothing like this. Why do they make it so difficult> Anyway I probally won;t be here much more too sad knowing all my hard work is down the drain. Good luck to those who are much smarter then me Julie

Julie, I believe in you! Don't give up.

I remembered taking my exam on a Wednesday. Last two days before my exam was boring. Did nothing productive, helped with errands, watched tv and facebook lol

I reviewed lab values and EKG strips. I know everyone recommend not doing anything, but it would've drove me crazy!
