Hello all! I recently just received my RN license in the mail last week, and I am eager to find a new job.Although the job hunt for new grads in California seems discouraging, I'm trying to stay positive in my job search. I have applied to a handful of new grad programs in my area, but it is difficulty to stick out among a large pool of RNs. I have made a portfolio, and plan to go to the hospitals at the top my list and personally hand them to the director of nursing& introduce myself. Does this approach seem like to much, or will it make a good impression to DONs? I would greatly appreciate feedback from new grad rns, experienced rns or nurse recruiters. Thanks for your time! Decreased cardiac output causes shortness of breath and wet lung sounds and since there's less volume of blood there's decreased bp& decreased peripheral pulses. at least that's what I learned from hurst!

Less blood going through the lungs does not effect the respiratory system in that way. It just means less oxygenated blood being circulated.

Mine seemed to fit under the management/delegation, risk reduction potential, health promotion topics. Sorry so vague, I don't want to break any nclex rules and give out too much info

I think that you're thinking that decreased cardiac output will lead to decreased kidney perfusion which can then cause kidney failure. If the kidneys fail then you can go into fluid volume excess. I can understand how you think it effects the resp sys... Respiratory changes can occur when the body is in fluid volume excess and the blood isn't getting pumped forward, but instead back up into the lungs.

Hello! I have never seen conference questions before taking nclex, so these took me by surprise. I think these are more recall/recognition type of questions though. So you would need to improve your content base in order to get these correct. I was able to eliminate two and guess. I also noticed a lot of my conference questions were regarding safety and infection control and health promotion(: I'm guessing the computer adapted to my answers and found health promotion and safety and infection were my weak areas though lol

Yeah I thought the conference questions felt like below passing level questions too lol. Qt 6 and 7 are analysis/application questions. The qbank is suppose o be all application /analysis type. Qt 1/2 are recall/recognition and qt 4/5 are mixed (:

My qt5 was 62% and qt6 was 56.5%. Try to relax. You're doing what you can, the last thing you need is your body and mind to be exhausted during test day. Personally, I took the last 3 days before my test to relaxed, and it did me some good. I was just like you though before I forced myself to calm down, I slept for 3 hours a day, and always felt fatigued/nauseated/stressed whenever I even thought about nclex. I took boards yesterday. So far I'm getting the good pop up, but I should officially know by tomorrow. Keep your head up and don't wear yourself down(:

Yeah, I felt like I was really speeding through the questions it took me about 3 hours to get through 170 questions. I walked out so confused lol I was expecting to come out of the test devastated and defeated by nclex, but u walked out think 'hmmm that wasn't too bad' which really freaked me out. It was 20 minutes before I could get myself together to drive lol. My conference questions weren't that bad. They almost seemed to be recall/recognition questions because they would ask for s/sx of a disease or precautions for a certain disease. Did you get a lot of alternative questions??
