  1. New Grad in CA

Hello all! I recently just received my RN license in the mail last week, and I am eager to find a new job.Although the job hunt for new grads in California seems discouraging, I'm trying to stay positive in my job search. I have applied to a handful...
  2. Could a kidney problems lead to lung problems?

Decreased cardiac output causes shortness of breath and wet lung sounds and since there's less volume of blood there's decreased bp& decreased peripheral pulses. at least that's what I learned from hurst!
  3. Could a kidney problems lead to lung problems?

Less blood going through the lungs does not effect the respiratory system in that way. It just means less oxygenated blood being circulated.
  4. took nclex 7/29/13

Phew! Just finished taking NCLEX RN. Finished at 170 something questions. When the computer stopprd I was in shock. Walked to my car, still in shock. I had no idea how I did through out the test. Usually people say they can tell when they're doing ba...
  5. took nclex 7/29/13

Stelon, I checked at midnightand it wasn't up yet. But this morning the site updated!!
  6. took nclex 7/29/13

You seem very prepared!! I only got a 61 on qt 7, go into the test site confident!!
  7. took nclex 7/29/13

I checked my name on this site http://www2.dca.ca.gov/pls/wllpub/wllqryna$lcev2.startup?p_qte_code=RN&p_qte_pgm_code=7800 Also my conference questions seemed like recall/recognition type of questions. Mine seemed to fit under the management/deleg...
  8. Could a kidney problems lead to lung problems?

I think that you're thinking that decreased cardiac output will lead to decreased kidney perfusion which can then cause kidney failure. If the kidneys fail then you can go into fluid volume excess. I can understand how you think it effects the resp s...
  9. took nclex 7/29/13

Hello! I have never seen conference questions before taking nclex, so these took me by surprise. I think these are more recall/recognition type of questions though. So you would need to improve your content base in order to get these correct. I was a...
  10. took nclex 7/29/13

My name just came up on the ca bon site (:
  11. took nclex 7/29/13

And I did la charity as well, my scores ranged from 37% to 81%
  12. took nclex 7/29/13

You look good to go! As long as you can critically think through questions, you'll be fine(:
  13. took nclex 7/29/13

Yeah I thought the conference questions felt like below passing level questions too lol. Qt 6 and 7 are analysis/application questions. The qbank is suppose o be all application /analysis type. Qt 1/2 are recall/recognition and qt 4/5 are mixed (:
  14. Stressed to the point of exhaustion over NCLEX

    I mean my qt5 was 52%
  15. Stressed to the point of exhaustion over NCLEX

My qt5 was 62% and qt6 was 56.5%. Try to relax. You're doing what you can, the last thing you need is your body and mind to be exhausted during test day. Personally, I took the last 3 days before my test to relaxed, and it did me some good. I was jus...
  16. took nclex 7/29/13

Yeah, I felt like I was really speeding through the questions it took me about 3 hours to get through 170 questions. I walked out so confused lol I was expecting to come out of the test devastated and defeated by nclex, but u walked out think 'hmmm t...
  17. took nclex 7/29/13

I think they are very similar. Kaplans sata were harder, but the questions I received were comparable to qbank questions. I was able to use the decision tree for maybe half my test
  18. Bad pop-up

Don't rely so much on the pop up. I've had friends get the cc page and still pass. The same thing happened to get actually. She got to 75 and it shut off. Checked pvt and got the cc page... a week later she got her rn license in the mail. Just wait u...
  19. took nclex 7/29/13

I averaged 62% on the q bank, but it was only because I re-did the questions I did wrong right after I did then, so it wasn't a very accurate reading of my q bank average. I would say my qbank scores ranged from 45% to no higher than 57%. The only ti...
  20. took nclex 7/29/13

Yeah definitely take breaks! It'll keep you from getting flustered
  21. took nclex 7/29/13

My kaplan test scores were mid 50s to 60s. You seem like you're on the right track. It really helps to do a lot of questions, I could sat through 165 questions before I needed a break! After my break I had 10 more questions and the computer shut off(...
  22. ncsbn 3 week pn course?

Just took it, so far I got the good pop up(:
  23. took nclex 7/29/13

I would occasionally get 2 satas in a row followed by a priority questions, but I would say that I had at least 10 no more than 15. Overall, maybe 20 alternative type questions
  24. Big day tomorrow :D

I know for California. I Google searched 'registered nurses search in california' and click the link at the top, and this can search for your name (:
  25. Big day tomorrow :D

It's strange because I feel so calm. I will keep you guys updated tomorrow, I don't think I will do pvt because I will be too nervous afterwards. I will probably just wait until a letter comes in the mail or check the ca bon site. Send positive vibes...
