Took NCLEX this morning 75 questions!!!!

Hi everyone! Soooo I did it. I finally faced the NCLEX and boy was I nervous. I went to bed last night around 11, and got up this morning, showered and made it to the site by 7am. I went over the 35 page studyguide that has been floating on here for years. I actually used that in addition to Kaplan, and the PDA lacharity book. First just let me say that I have prayed sooooo much during this time. I prayed throughout nursing school, and I also prayed for God to give me the will to keep going. You take a number and after getting scanned in and verified, you are led to your computer. I prayed for 75 questions and I prayed for God to help me answer things I did not know. I prayed with each click of my mouse, and when I felt overwhelmed by a question I took deep breaths and made sure the answer I chose was answering the question given. I started my test at 8am and was done in a little under an hour.My second question was a SATA. Over 50 % of my exam was over staff education which was something I was not prepared for. I had at least 20-25 Priority questions such as ,"Who would you see first, what med would you give first, What do you need to assess before giving a med, etc. I had some delegation on what would you have the UAP do. I had about 7 SATA, and 3 drag and drop. I would say that the majority of my test was prioritization,some delegation,and staff education. I remember thinking around question 60,"Man I'm doing this!" Because I kept seeing priority questions. By the time I got to 70 I paused, closed my eyes and thanked GOD because I felt in my heart I was passing at this point, and knew I had a good chance at the computer turning blue at 75. I got to the last question and it was a PRIORITY question! I answered it, and next thing I know the infamous blue screen I have heard sooooo much about. I took a minute before getting up and I thanked GOD it was finally over. Then I cried right there in my seat silently. I guess I was emotional just thinking about the seriousness of this for me. I am too nervous to try the PVT trick, but I believe in my heart I passed. Thank you to everyone who has given me moral support, and words of encouragement. Sounds like you did great! I don't put much stock in the kinds of questions people report having, as they can be above passing standard or below passing standard BUT something tells me you did just fine :)

NOW....get off the computer and go do something FUN! Get to the shopping mall and treat yourself to something nice....take a friend to lunch and talk about anything EXCEPT your exam (OFF LIMITS!). Walk the dog. Play in the garden. Take a drive with the music blaring.

Relax. You're done :D

I took my NCLEX yesterday (June 9th) and I have to say that our experiences sound VERY similar. Mine shut off at 75 too which really surprised me, I was expecting to stay at least longer than an hour! I didn't count how many SATA that I had, but it was probably over 20, with 2 drag and drops, 2 exhibits, 1 EKG, some pictures. Like you, I had education questions. And I had a lot of infection control and meds. No OB, peds or math! I walked out of there feeling a little weird, but I was confident during it so I'm just hoping good news comes our way!

Congrats on your test and getting 75 questions!! I bet you did great! I took my exam this morning too and got around 140 questions which was stressful! I had almost all priority, a lot of SATA, 1 drag and drop, 4-5 exhibits, and about 6 EKGs, which was awful.

Now it's time for the dreaded wait for those results!

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who is a nervous wreck right now!

I also took the NCLEX yesterday afternoon. When the computer shut off at 75 questions I was torn between crying, throwing up, or passing out. I'm still not sure how I made it out of the testing center to my car- I think I had blacked out at that point. I was praying the computer would not shut off at 75 questions because I knew I was failing and I wanted more time to prove my ability- I swear I only got a handful of the 75 questions correct. The test from start to finish took me just under an hour- the BIGGEST, most IMPORTANT test of my LIFE took me less than an hour...

I had two drag and drop questions, three cardiac strips, two exhibits, one picture, NO audio, NO math, a few pharm questions, and at least 30 SATA. I realize that fifteen of the 75 questions are just practice questions and don't count, but I honestly feel like I failed. The questions were so difficult and I feel like the important topics that were covered in my 4 years of school, in the week long review course I took, and thousands of practice questions I did were nowhere to be found on the exam.

I was an above average student in school, which I know doesn't count for much when it comes to the NCLEX, but all of the comprehensive ATI predictors I took this year said I had a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX.

I have done the Pearson Vue "trick" about a dozen times now (don't judge!) and have gotten the "good" message each time, both before 24 hours after taking the exam and 24 hours after taking the exam. I have been obsessively refreshing my "pending" license page on the MA BON website as well- even though I know they closed at 5pm!

I'm still clinging to hope that I passed while not trying to get my hopes up at the same time. What's bumming me out the most is that another girl from my school who took the NCLEX at the same as I did yesterday already found out she passed, I'm assuming from the MA BON website. I'm pretty sure she finished after I did so I'm afraid I really did fail, even though they could have updated her license right before they closed at 5pm.

I'm supposed to start my job in the end of July, which I won't be able to do if I failed because MA requires you to wait 45 days until you are allowed to retake the NCLEX. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that God has a plan for each of us... I'm just a wreck and want to know either way.

I got 75 today..Our exams sound super similar! I also had one random EKG! Let me know how u end up! I hate waiting!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Finally someone who trusted their performance in nursing school and when it shut off at 75, didn't freak out that they may have failed. Congratulations on kicking butt on the test.

When will you get your results?

I'm just applied in May '15 and I got an email to go on the second step. I did my drug test, fingerprinted, and background. Now I'm just praying that I get officially accepted!!!
