Took LPN NCLEX today and SO DEPRESSED!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi guys, I studied and studied and did almost every question in Saunders and felt really good going into the test. Got there started the test and BAM....started on what turned out to be Educated Guess' through the entire test. I can't say I remember one question that I went "yeah, that is the answer"! I felt like I had to guess every question but educated quess'. Has anyone every walked out of those test and say "yeah! I nailed that test!"? I cried the whole way home which is an hour drive and almost even pulled over to get sick on the highway. Then to top it off, I got home and looked over some things and realized I totally messed up on the EASIEST questions on the test which was converting the ounces to ml's!!! I could not believe it! That was fist semester stuff that I KNEW!!! But I was so dumb founded on the educating guessing I guess my mind went DUH!!LOL It shut off at 85 and I am just beside myself, I can not believe those questions were so much guessing. I am just going on that I did not pass, because none of those questions just jumped off the page at me. Well, I will find out Wed night when I get off work, but I don't feel good.

Please don't be discouraged. What may seem like an easy question to you, may have been a difficult NCLEX question. Also, you can't remember the questions and possible answers exactly as they were worded, so what you looked up may not even be the same thing.

Please, try not to worry and definitely let us know how you did!

New,

Just to make you feel better, I felt the exact same way as you do when I took my NCLEX! I took 85 questions, felt dumb as a box of rocks! I was sure that I had failed even though I knew that the odds of passing the darn test after taking 85 questions was far greater than the odds of failing it after taking 85 questions.

I sat and stewed for the 2 days until I could get my results, and low and behold I passed! Sure don't know how, based on how I felt after I did my "Educated Guessing", but I did!

Just believe in yourself, and your ability, and on Wednesday you will see that all of the worring was for nothing!

Take Care,

Dan

i do hope that this makes you feel better, but i've been on this board for almost 2 years now. i've been reading this forum for a while (nearly as long) and i can't remember one person who has come back in here and posted that they feel like they nailed the nclex pn or rn and actually passed.

wait, i can remember one person who said that they felt really good about it when they came out, felt it was really easy, and i remember that person did fail.

keep in mind that everyone feels that way about the exam. no, i haven't taken it, but i hear that it's a tough one.

i'll be thinking of you!! keep positive and keep us posted!

When you're under a lot of stress, a mistake like that would be easy to make. It might balance itself out when a made a good call on a more difficult question. Good luck!

Thanks guys for all your support and rallying around me. I feel a little bit better knowing that everyone walks out of there feeling like I did. Can't get over how much it was not what I thought the questions was going to be like! I have prayed and put it in God's hands, because it is truely out of mine now. But somehow I keep picking it back up and worrying..........HAHA. Well I have to work tomorrow so hopefully that will pass time. I will let you guys know how I did though. :uhoh21:

That's all you can do now, hon. Place it in God's hands, and it's out of yours right now. Please know that we are still thinking of you, and please let us know how you do! (((hugs)))

We all felt the same way after taking boards. I graduated with a 4.0 and had 265 questions. I felt like such an idiot. I just knew it would turn off at 75 plus I had been an LPN for 26 years prior to taking the NCLEX. I passed !

Got my results today and God is GOOD! I passed! Thanks to everyone of you who answered my post and gave me words of encouragement to hang on until I got my results. I will go and post a message to all those who doubt themselves now!
