Taking NCLEX-RN in 4 days!! Kaplan scores? And encouragement!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Well the time is finally here! I am taking my boards in just 4 days! I get nervous and then I get excited!! I am nervous just because that is the type of person I am. I wonder what if they ask me ONLY questions I don't know? What if I clam up and second guess everything?! I have been working on relaxing throughout all my practice exams - which leads me to the excited part. The more practice I do with questions the more confident I become. I feel like my school has decently prepared me. I get to a question and am flooded with memories of my first semester. I am amazed that the introductory info still fits in my tiny brain! I have been using Kaplan on demand for my review. I go through periods where I find it useful and then where I find their rationales quite far fetched. But, overall, I am very glad that I purchased it. Anyway for those of you that took Kaplan, feel free to tell me if you think (based on my scores below) that I am ready. some scores are better than others, but on average I normally scored at or above the 65% Kaplan says you should aim for. I feel ready! Just nervous :/ and, please, EVERYONE feel free to give me words of wisdom and encouragement (and prayers!). This site is always so encouraging and inspirational. I need a little of that!

Qbank (93% completed-will finish in the next 2 days) average 64%

Diagnostic -69%

Q trainer 1 - 67%

Q trainer 2 - 65%

Q trainer 3 - 58%

Q trainer 4 - 65%

Q trainer 5 - 55% (yikes!)

Q trainer 6 - 68%

Q trainer 7 - 67%

Readiness - 71%

I also think I am nervous about the SATA questions, as I do not feel Kaplan has given me much practice with them. I have heard NCLEX SATA are not as difficult as Kaplans...opinions?

Thanks everyone for all your support! This website has been a godsend from the first moment I decided I wanted to become a nurse...all the way until now :)

Thank you St. Claire!! official results still pending :)

Peppermint - I think actually going over the rationale is what was most helpful. Just stay determined and you will be glad when it is done. You are going to do this! It is not THAT bad. JUST like kaplans... I promise :)

Thanks Lilly bud! On 172 out of 265 and realized I need to eat lol! Feelin a lil hypoglycemic over here, so prolly going to get In-n-out before I come back. I'm so happy for you!!!!

Ey peppy!! (: can I call you that? Or peppermint patty? Peppy sounds too much like the skunk (peppy le pew) lol

Anyway You're doing great. I know 265q is a lot but hey you can use this as a scenario on test day. Bring an energy bar or drink to the testing center. If your center is anything like mine there will be lockers to put your stuff in while you test. Also While you're home taking the practice tests imagine your in the testing center. And vice versa. At the testing center picture yourself in your comfy home.

Also its okay to talk to yourself. Lol meaning when you go over the rationale verbalize your thinking as to why you got that answer right or wrong. It helps me. And I've gotten a lot better at choosing the right answer.

We can do this!!

This was meant to be a pm but for some reason I reached a limit to sending private messages? Weird.

AWWW thankyou!!!! You can call me anything :) I just finish 265 questions and omg tooooook forever! I know I keep saying that but it's so true. I will take your advice just in case I get all 265 lol

You guys are going to be great. I mean, I got some questions that I swear were right from Kaplan. My only issue was calming myself down. It takes my little brain a while to process things. Good luck! I want to hear from both you of on how awesome you guys did ;)

i marked down on my board every SATA question i got. Everytime i got one i got happy because to me i felt those were high level questions and that meant i was doing good. So for every SATA i got i was happy and looked at every SATA option as true or false. I ended up getting 18 SATA, and few drag and drops. 75 questions and good pop up

good luck

Dudernguy, I got 17 SATA a butt load of meds, two drag and drops, and one exhibit. I felt the same way as you did about getting the select all that apply. It was almost like every time I didn't get one I would get a little anxious like I was doing bad. Overall the SATA ones were not bad at all!

you know how they have audio and video recording of you taking the test? at least thats what i hear my testing center does... i wonder can they see you tallying the number of different types of questions you saw on your test?

It doesn't matter. You are given a white board and a marker, after the test starts you can write anything you want on it. They will take it from you when you are finished. Make sure you are not writing on it prior to the start of the test.

Yea, they monitor everything! But I kept tally because once the exam officially starts you can write in the board. DO NOT WRITE ON IT UNTIL YOU GET YOUR FIRST QUESTION! Can't use it during the tutorial.

ohh yeaa ok (:

I did it!! I officially passed :) I am so freakin excited!!! thanks for your encouragement guys!

Congratulations.
