Hello Mommas:

I am taking my exam this month.I have a 3months old,5years old and a 3years old.I get most of my studying done when they are sleeping at night;i study from 9,10,or 11pm till 3am most time and till the next morning(5am) when hubby is home.I use REA's interactive flash cards,Lippincott CD and read more about questions i really dont understand in the book(lippincott) after reading the rationales,i bought the kaplan online testbanks and i have the book as well(i read the book maybe 5times but finished studying the questions bank and rationales).I am also going to purchase NCSBN's Review for the last three weeks before my exam. What about you?I am taking the NCLEX-PN.Let us use this thread to encourage each other or what do you think?Goodluck to all the mommas out there as we can do it:D.

Good luck just took the test yesterday and waiting for results. I used exam cram pn and feel I did good because of the fact that I had questions I had no clue of what they were talking about. The theory I'm using is that since the test is CAT the hardier the better. Although I'm not a single mom I wish you all the sucesess in the world. Please don't spend crazy money on prep classes!!!! No the basics and expect to find lots of infection control, prioritizing, and disease processes they will ask alot of overt questions. It's about how you think not memory!!!!!

hey Prayerworks,

Congratulation on your new baby. It's good that you can discipline yourself to stay up late, i'm sure you must be really exhausted.

I'm a mom of 2 kids, ages 5 and 2, studying with kids is not easy, but i have conditioned myself to work my schedule around them, i don't let their noise bother me anymore...lol....i'm immune to it.

My test is next week, i'm currently using Davis, Sanders and LaCharity. i try to answers questions everyday and review Sanders for content.

Hello, Im a mother of 2,3, and 9 ( the younger 2 are home with me). Its so hard to study with them, but I try I study at 7a-8a if the kids dont get up lol 1p-3p (kids nap time) 7-10p (barnes and Noble), and later i recap everything, of I dont follow this all the time because the kids sometime make their own agenda. I try to stick to it tho. Im using Hurst (content) NCLEX 3000 and saunders 4th ed CD 4 questions). noot sure when i plan on taking the test been out of scchool for 4 yrs now just trying to make sure Im ready.

Good luck to momma with little ones.

I'm a stay-at-home-mom for a good four years now. I have a 3 yr old and a 2 yr old and, sure, I have moments I don't get any studying time. Honestly, almost no studying time and will be taking the NCLEX very soon. So all we have to do is dedicate ourselves, and only we can motivate ourselves. All prayers goes out to all the moms who work so hard and dedicate their time in raising their children. All we need is confidence... and good massage after we pass the NCLEX! Good luck to all!!!
