I took 150 questions and passed. Please don't worry, it's not worth it, besides if you feel you at least answered the questions to the best of your ability and practiced a plenty prior to taking the examm, you probably most definetly passed!

You can pass or fail with any number of questions...from what I understand, if you do not pass the first time, then most employers give you a grace period to get it taken again before they do anything with your employment...the last hospital I worked for bumped you down to tech if you didn't pass it on the 2nd try

i took nclex today and it stopped at 75... i feel the same way you do .. i thought i was going to drop when the computer went blank... ugh... i bet you passed.. at least the computer kept giving you questions... my questions just stopped and i was just getting started... i'll remember you in my prayers...

I got 95 questions. I felt just like you do now and I passed. You cannot go by the number of questions you got. Really... Even if it stops at 75 you feel like a failure. Just hang in there sweetie!

As others have stated, there really is no way to gauge by the number of questions. It is hard, I know, but the only thing you can do is wait. What position are you working in at the ER now? Did they offer you a position as a nurse pending the exam results? Just wait until you get the results. You probably did better than you think. Disillusionment and confusion is the usual feeling of post-test takers, believe me. Good luck!

Where I work, if you arent successful the first time, you can work as a tech or cna until you are eligible to take the exam again. I took mine July 3rd and got 76 questions, I passed. As another poster said, you cannot tell at all what your status is by how many questions you get... NOONE ever leaves the NCLEX feeling like theyve passed. Good Luck and I'll be thinking of you! ~Ivanna :)
