I noticed several of my school buddies tested on the same day, but their license says current until....a variety of days.


Does the length of the licensure reflect how you did on your NCLEX?

no. lpns have their license renewed every odd year and rn's every even year or you could double check with ur state board of nursing. but that is the way it is in ga.

Has nothing to do with NCLEX results. Most states have a system where you renew your license in the month of your birthdate (so the renewals are spread out fairly evenly during the year), so the length of time before everyone's first license expires varies based on that. After the initial renewal, everyone's license will be good for the standard length of time (in my state it's two years, and I believe that's pretty standard).

Thanks to you both. I noticed with several people, it's even anywhere from 2008-2010.

Mine is 2009. Strange.


(One tested at then beginning of June...current to end of 2008.
(I tested 6/18....current until late 2009. 4 others all tested 6/23, and theirs is good until a variety of months in 2010.)

Mine i got my LPN license last year and renewed just this month and good for 10yrs.

im an RN living in PA and I tested this past June 17 and mine expires oct 09 my bday is in July so Im not sure about the whole odd even month or birth month because neither fall into that catagory

You need to recheck the date on that license, have never seen one valid for more than four years. And even that is rare, most are only two years.

I suggest that you contact your BON if it states ten years, most definitely an error on the license when it was issued.
