I passed NCLEX RN at 95! PVT Works, too! Here are my tips:

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took the test last September 9. I stopped at 95 and at first, I'm shocked! The test is neither easy nor difficult. I told myself that there is chance that I failed but the chance that I passed the test is higher. Sometimes it is difficult to tell others that the exam is "NOT-REALLY-THAT-HARD" if you still don't know if you passed. Just to be on the safe side.

I got 2 SATA, 2 pictures, 1 exhibit, prioritization, familiar drugs(Yes, familiar), and infection control. No delegation. I tried the PVT 6 hours after the test and got the good pop up! And yesterday, I just found out that I really did pass!

Guys, seriously, all you need to buy is the LaCharity and Davis 2010 book by Kathleen Ohman. I have Saunders and Kaplan as well though. These two(La Charity and Davis)books, if you will really understand the rationale of each questions and choices, are enough to pass the test! Whenever you answer a question from these books and understand the rationale behind each options, you are also reviewing the content indirectly.

I am so happy because in an RN now! To everyone who passed, Congratulations as well!:yeah:

To those who failed, try the LaCharity-Davis combination!

To this website and all admins, Thank you so much! This site has helped me a lot! Cheers!:)

wowww thanks for the information about lacharity and davis 2010 :)) , just graduated from texas rn program and studying for my boards :)))))

I could use some good study advice. I took the NCLEX RN in july and did not pass. I am reading Kaplan and also did the ncsbn review course. Any other recommendations? I am looking for a good practice cd or online download foor up to date questions to the 2010 format. Has anyone used nclex 4000 or know of somthing similar that is newer? Thanks to anyone who can help!

CONGRATS!!!!!!:yeah:I know that's a great feeling. :nurse:

I am hearing to do at least 100 Q&A a day to be successful. Did you do more Q&A than reading each day?

Hi Guys! Just do as many question AS YOU CAN everyday. I only reviewed for one and a half months. When I say as MANY question as you can, it means that answering a specific number of questions that your mind can digest that day. Also, it is important to read the rationales of the WRONG answers. Review your labs, Infection control, know the basics of each disorders/diseases and answer questions from LaCharity and Davis(Kathleen Ohman) and I believe that you are good to go! My LaCharity scores are 50-65% and my Davis' scores are just in between 48-66%...

I am reading content for two and a half weeks, then I will do questions only for the next three weeks. I am looking at 5 and a half weeks of study. I also have Davis CD, La Charity, Kaplan course book, Hurst course book and ATI books. I am also looking at the random fact throwing file. I pray I will pass for my second time in November. God help me!

Thanks for the advice....I will be making my second attempt as well in Nov. I wish us all the best and thank you to those who have mastered Nclex and continue to support those of us who are still in the struggle!!! I only have a few weeks so I am ready to roll.

hi..

i am reviewing for my ncLex and i wiLL take it on the 22 of this month..i`m using lacharity and davis, my la charity scores (on every chapter/case study) ranged from 50-75% and i finished the whole book.

on the other hand, i did almost 1500 on davis book and i scored 50-75% on the diff chapters. now im using the cd and i've answered 530 questions divided in two (which is 265 questions each), i got 67% on the first one and only 55% on the second set. it's discouraging because the book emphasized that you should get scores ranging from 75-80% that will imply that you're ready for the nclex. i don't want to re-schedule my exam, i dont want to prolong this agony! LoL. but seriously, though, i just wanna get this over with.

i also used kaplan, my question trainers are between 50-60% form 1-7. i wasnt able to finish the qbank though.

and i also used saunders, reviewed the whole book and did every chapter quiz and i scored 60-85% and i scored 100% on i think 4 chapter quizzes, i noticed that the questions were kind of easy so i didn't use the cd anymore, instead i used the lacharity and davis for practice questions.

so, what do you guys think? am i doing okay? all inputs/suggestions will be appreciated.. :)

I am currenlty using Davis and have found a ton of errors on the CD. I am just working around it at this point. I am also using Lachatiry, the Hurst book, and the random fact file.

hi kelle congratulations!

i am just curious coz im using the davis's q&a also. how was your score when you were practicing (if u dont mind me asking)....

i am just kind of upset of my scores. (i graduated from nursing school on 2005 so im struggling how to pass the test.. i graduated in the philippines as well. ) did you finish answering the cd? i hope you reply back... thank u

i just took my rn nclex 10/08/11 tried the pvt but it wont let me go t the cc payment and is says this canadiate has prevously pass this test and can not be schedule for this test what dose this mean help.

You passed:yeah:

i am a repeater and the big date will be the end of this month!

i failed the first exam.. i used kaplan.. it ddnt help me tho i love the questions.. it really is hard.. for me it practices ur endurance..

i used saunder's too.. i finished it cover to cover.. i've noticed, as im reading it.. yea.. i do understand each topic.. but now, 3 weeks after,, dang! some of it i cnt COMPLETELY remember..

la charity is great! it focuses on the management area..

im planning to answer kaplan QTRAINERS again... just for the sake of practicing MORE questions.. and doing the 265.

i haven't seen/tried/read davis thoo.. i heard it's good. NOW im getting scared again!

sometimes i feel im doing ok.. but when i remember how HARD NCLEX was, it scares me.. thinking.. WHAT IF i pass some off the areas, and some not????

see.. im not the smart' student type in school. i cn say im average..

do you think.. im doing enough?? :crying2:

sorry for the long post!
