I took the test last September 9. I stopped at 95 and at first, I'm shocked! The test is neither easy nor difficult. I told myself that there is chance that I failed but the chance that I passed the test is higher. Sometimes it is difficult to tell others that the exam is "NOT-REALLY-THAT-HARD" if you still don't know if you passed. Just to be on the safe side.
I got 2 SATA, 2 pictures, 1 exhibit, prioritization, familiar drugs(Yes, familiar), and infection control. No delegation. I tried the PVT 6 hours after the test and got the good pop up! And yesterday, I just found out that I really did pass!
Guys, seriously, all you need to buy is the LaCharity and Davis 2010 book by Kathleen Ohman. I have Saunders and Kaplan as well though. These two(La Charity and Davis)books, if you will really understand the rationale of each questions and choices, are enough to pass the test! Whenever you answer a question from these books and understand the rationale behind each options, you are also reviewing the content indirectly.
I am so happy because in an RN now! To everyone who passed, Congratulations as well!
To those who failed, try the LaCharity-Davis combination!
To this website and all admins, Thank you so much! This site has helped me a lot! Cheers!:)
Congratulations and thank you for sharing your experience. Regarding using the Lacharity book, did u just answer Chapters 1-14 and skipped the Case studies? or did you still review the case studies?
I answered Chapter 1-14 and chose the case study(I think I answered 3) that I'm having difficulty with.....
By the way, what is PVT? Thank you for sharing... :)
PVT is Pearson Vue Trick... You do this by trying to reregister for NCLEX exam after you take test (Just make sure that delivery is successful) and a good pop up means that you passed the test. A Good pop up is the one with "contact your BON..."
Books: Davis NCLEX 2010 (there is only one Davis book where Kathleen Ohman is the main author), and LaCharity's book is Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment.
hi there kelle!
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!!!

i am a repeater and the big date will be the end of this month!
i failed the first exam.. i used kaplan.. it ddnt help me tho i love the questions.. it really is hard.. for me it practices ur endurance..
i used saunder's too.. i finished it cover to cover.. i've noticed, as im reading it.. yea.. i do understand each topic.. but now, 3 weeks after,, dang! some of it i cnt COMPLETELY remember..
la charity is great! it focuses on the management area..
im planning to answer kaplan QTRAINERS again... just for the sake of practicing MORE questions.. and doing the 265.
i haven't seen/tried/read davis thoo.. i heard it's good. NOW im getting scared again!
sometimes i feel im doing ok.. but when i remember how HARD NCLEX was, it scares me.. thinking.. WHAT IF i pass some off the areas, and some not????
see.. im not the smart' student type in school. i cn say im average..
do you think.. im doing enough??
sorry for the long post!
Gold, I live here in Indiana but I'm a Filipino though. Focus on Davis(Kathleen Ohman) and La Charity... Forget the other books but make sure that you digest the rationale of the correct and wrong answers of these two books.
What davis? The success? What about the exam cram? is this book good?
