Published

Hi Guys,

After taking my test I did the pvt for about 20 times within 38 hours and was getting the good pop based on this I thought I passed. The next day I did the pvt again and got the cc page I am so shocked I can't belive it. I haven't been sleeping and I am so down and depressed it was my third time how can pvt be so unrelaible? What is wrong or going on? Wasn't the 24 SATA with 85 questions a good sign? I am so lost, confused and do not know what to do. All I did was crying. I have talked to my professors and some recomended writing a complaint letter I just do not know how to prove them because I did the pvt what am I suppose to say in my complaint? Please help me with this letter in my heart I feel that I passed but how to prove they will tell me pvt is not relaible but what about 24 sata? oh god I do not know any more I am not a good complaint writter please help me desperetlly seeking your help.

Thank you

Are you seriously comparing the oppression of black people to your "plight" of failing a test?

seriously?

What I think is that you need to get off this site and

stop spending all your time complaining about this "injustice"

stop coming up with new ways to justify your behavior

stop trying to prove how wrong this is

stop comparing yourself to victims of discrimination

stop patting yourself on the back for standing up to your oppressors

stop griping about how no one understands you

and sit down, crack open a book, and study for the freaking test.

This thread has gone on for far too long, your spelling and grammar are atrocious, and I truly think this whole saga is completely half-baked.

I really hope you get yourself pulled together before you hit the job search, but I imagine we'll be getting another thread just like this one, about how unfair it all is, and then when you start working, we'll be getting another thread about your co-workers and how unfair your boss is.

Well it doesnt hurt to try writing them. You would have to give him and very valid reason (PVT trick is not on their site), but think about this... so many people fail and if we all wrote letters then they wouldn't make any money and people wouldn't get pay. Honestly, I would focus on a plan of passing and start studying again. Don't wait to long because you may forget the info.

Hi Tashy Mary Kay,

I am taking mine in two months. I seems to have all the main resources I will just go through them again and hope for the best. In the report I got most were above standards except infection control which was near passing. Hope to make it this time.

Good buy all

The word flummoxed, at this juncture, is an understatement.

Your statement about not "lowering your standards" to the people who are quick to judge you is quite baffling, when you yourself, readily labels everyone else of being judgmental and narrow-minded. People are skeptical because your cacographic statements are filled with inconsistencies.

What I cannot believe more is how you can compare your apparent plight to actual moral issues that plagued this country a while ago. The treatment of the aforementioned people was morally bankrupt. But what is even more surprising to me is how you came to believe that what happened to you is even remotely close to such. Yes, we are supposed to fight for change when something is wrong. I took Nursing Politics, too. I hope that you don't think you were treated unethically. You went through the same process as everyone else who has taken the exam.

You failed, although you thought that you were sure that you passed, and decided that the computer glitched out and failed you anyway. Does this ring a bell on anyone? Now we all took Psych. Take your pick of a specific defense mechanism.

Great! that means you were so close. Have you tried hurst? If not I have some videos I can give you.

I agree that its wrong for people to accused you.. lets all put that aside. This should be all about the "letter" .I think when someone is writing in reply it may have have been out of hand. It is possible voice your opinion without attacking the person. I have to admit your idea gave us some insight. I would not be surprise if someone else is planning to do the same

This is becoming ridiculous. There are numerous posts critiquing the OP's writing style, grammar, spelling and abilities. Does this really matter? And, the pitiful truth is I've found linguistic errors in each and every reply, here--without exception. (Including my own.) Don't be so quick to throw stones, feel superior, or condescend to others for faults we all share. No one here is an editor for Merriam-Webster; none of us are English professors. It's especially true for those armed with a thesaurus and spell check who want to make themselves look and feel superior. Cut the crap and respond to what others say rather than the way they say it.

The gist of the OP's message is this: she feels frustrated and worried about failing the NCLEX. She also feels the process was somehow unfair. Address those issues: offer support if you'd like, or skepticism if you see inconsistencies that don't make sense. This is a discussion board, after all. The OP is (was?) looking for support and advice, but also opened herself up to probing questions because of her unusual experience.

Stick to the topics and address the messages, not the way mechanics of the language used.

Holy mother of cats. You do realize that this is a public forum with 500,000+ members, not all of whom are nurses, and some of whom are trolls, perverts, nutcases, and phishers trying to sell member enhancement products.

This forum is also easily accessible via google, and a multitude of other search engines, populated by some serious crazies.

You've now got an entire thread of personal information about yourself going, that anyone can use to extrapolate information about everything from your hometown, income, education, and astrological sign.

So you've now posted your email address. Smart move. Not.

How dare anyone say you are not cut out to be a nurse if you failed the NCLEX any amount of times. I don't care what the situation is, no one has the right to say that. Answering questions on a standardized test and performing quality care and giving care to patients are two different things.
Actually, it does. The NCLEX is the bare minimum standard for being a nurse. If a person can't meet that minimum qualification, especially after multiple attempts, their nursing ability is suspect. I wish the OP all the best, but it makes me very nervous to think that I might be working alongside nurses that took 3, 4, 5, or more attempts to pass what is a very basic test.

@Aurora, you are probably working with nurses who took the exam 3,4,5 times.. They are probably the best nurses too. The test is looking for competency and it doesn't matter how many times you take it. It doesn't mean a person doesn't have good clinical skills. People has anxiety problems etc, Do you know how many Dr's out there who have to repeat test and also take their comp's many times during residency and are still working!!! You should be a bit more sensitive. Don't know of any hospitals who asked you how many times you took the boards when you are hired, all they want is the license, plus everyone goes through orientation and has a nurse guiding you. If they feel you are not ready to work alone, you can get more time.
