Hi Guys,

After taking my test I did the pvt for about 20 times within 38 hours and was getting the good pop based on this I thought I passed. The next day I did the pvt again and got the cc page I am so shocked I can't belive it. I haven't been sleeping and I am so down and depressed it was my third time how can pvt be so unrelaible? What is wrong or going on? Wasn't the 24 SATA with 85 questions a good sign? I am so lost, confused and do not know what to do. All I did was crying. I have talked to my professors and some recomended writing a complaint letter I just do not know how to prove them because I did the pvt what am I suppose to say in my complaint? Please help me with this letter in my heart I feel that I passed but how to prove they will tell me pvt is not relaible but what about 24 sata? oh god I do not know any more I am not a good complaint writter please help me desperetlly seeking your help.

Thank you

Karen

First things first - take a deep cleansing breath....... okay :)

Now,

*Do you live in a state that gets quick results? In Ca, the BRN will post your License within 72 hrs (provided you take the exam on a Mon, Tues (maybe for Wed).

*You definitely got the good pop-up? (our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam.....), Did you check anything differently this time on the questions asked during the registration process? I don't know if that makes a difference, but it might.

*From what I've seen, the PVT is pretty solid - but it's not a guarantee that pearsonvue will uphold, and rumor has it that the SATA questions are harder (I got 25 on mine). BUT the only way to know for sure is to see it posted on the BRN.

I know this won't help much with your post test anxiety. I hope you check your state BRN and find great news

Keep us posted,

First, do you have access to quick results? Even with the quick results those are unofficial results, technically speaking. The only entity that can officially release pass or fail results is the board of nursing.

Second, are you wanting to write a letter of complaint to Pearson Vue that the non-endorsed, unofficial "trick" changed that you possibly passed to seemingly failed? That won't go far at all. As as far as Pearson Vue, the boards of nursing, and the NCSBN is concerned the PVT doesn't exist.

So writing a letter of complaint that the PVT 'results' changed after you tried the trick "20 times in 38 hours" will fall on deaf ears.

My suggestion would be to pay for quick results if you have access to them otherwise sit tight until you get the official results. While some have hypothesized generally the more SATA questions you get it is indicative that you did rather well, there is no guarantee that this is true.

From the NCSBN website (and repeated on Pearson Vue and in the candidate bulletin): "

[h=1]After the Exam[/h]

The time after finishing NCLEX and awaiting results is filled with anticipation for many candidates.

[h=3]Unofficial and Official Results[/h] If your board of nursing participates in the Quick Results Service, you can receive your “unofficial” results 48 hours after the exam. This service is available for $7.95 on the Pearson VUE NCLEX Candidate website. You can also call 1.900.776.2539 ($9.95 for the call).

Official results are ONLY available through your board of nursing and will be mailed to you approximately one month after the exam. Do NOT call NCSBN, your board of nursing, Pearson VUE NCLEX Candidate Services or the Pearson Professional Centers for results.

Oh and if you are in CA and took the NCLEX-PN, your license won't be posted until after you receive the letter that you passed (approx a month after taking the exam) and then send in the licensing fee.

basically SATA has nothing to do with passing. all types of questions are on the same percentage. they give multiple choice that is so hard and they give SATA that you can easily pick the 2-3 right answers and you will be stucked on the last remaining answer. its basically same. but if you take it as a PN well its 1 month. there are some persons who did the trick the gave them a good pop up and then cc page but they passed.

I have done my quick results already thats how I know I failed!!! the message I was getting said this (our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam) which was reasurring I passed. According to SATA's all the threads I read it seems that if you perform well you get application types quesitons that's why I also belived that I passed. I think I will go forward and make a comploaint according to two of my professors this has been happening and many students made complaints already and it did resolve their issues so I am plaining on taking this step as well. Thank you though if any of you have good tips on writing my letter please pm me thanks

What exactly are you going to complain about? A "trick" that is not endorsed by any official entity (the boards of nursing, NCSBN, or Pearson Vue)? There have been many glitches with the "trick" lately especially last week when there were issues with the test itself (problem with the calculator). It would be a different story if you got a "passed" from the quick results and then a fail letter from the BoN, but even then you wouldn't have a leg to stand on in your complaint as it clearly states on Pearson Vue and the NCSBN website that the quick results are in fact unofficial and the ONLY entity that can release official NCLEX pass results is your board of nursing.

So again, I am confused as to what you are complaining about. No where in any of the official information from the NCSBN, the state boards of nursing, or the Pearson Vue website do they mention, discuss, or endorse the 'pearson vue trick". What exactly to you hope to gain by complaining that you were given "inaccurate" results from an unofficial "trick"? I understand your frustration, sorrow and pain that you failed the NCELX-PN for the third time. However, since you did fail to meet the national passing standard complaining is not going to change that result.

My suggestion would be to check with your board of nursing if/when you are eligible for a re-test. (Some states like NJ require that if you fail the NCLEX 3 times you must sit through a board of nursing refresher course before you are permitted to retake the NCELX a fourth time). Then using your candidate report perhaps sit with your nursing school instructors to set up a study plan for success. If your weak areas are the same from each test then you will know where to focus your energy on. If not, perhaps focusing on test taking strategies such as those taught by Kaplan might be a better use of your time.

Good luck, take a deep breath and make your plan to go forward to achieve the success you desire. I strongly recommend AGAINST writing a complaint letter that you were "tricked' by the "Pearson Vue Trick".

Sorry I know that your depressed right now, BUT I dont understand why would u complain? Because u failed? Getting 24 SATA's questions is not a guarantee that you would pass the exam, it just happened that most nclex taker here that passed the exam have a lot of SATA questions. And the PVT trick is called "trick" because its just a trick... Happened to be a lot people here who took the exam did the trick and luckily they pass. Anyway think about the complain again, take a deep breath, relax.

I think your right I am a little upset I should just let go and when I am ready emotinally to take that refresher course. Thank you guys for your input

Karen2012, most people tell me make sure it says "delivered sucessfully" to file a complaint on a trick may be a different story. I am so sorry to hear about your result. Hurst is a good refresher course.

I want to thank those people who emailed me with their great tips and kindess I appriciate it very much. I was debating whether to write a letter or not and thought that I will take this idia out of my head. Thanks to the people in this forum for their encouragment so I did write a letter. I stated that I have 4.0 gpa and great references from my patients and am a good nurse but was unable to pass the exam after trials. I expressed in my letter that I strognly belived I passed and asked for reconsideration. I got an email which was genuine offering me a ticket number for a retest. Halleluya

Thank you guys for your anounomous emails and support god bless you
